Good Bye Summer Holidays!
We’ll Miss You Summer holidays
Dear Summer Holidays, You did not judge us
when we stayed in our pj’s all day
If we stayed up and watched movies until after midnight
If we ate lunch at 3pm and tea at 8.30pm it just did not matter
You allowed us to be spontaneous, drop everything and go for a picnic or go to the seaside just to go for a paddle
You were generous with the weather and gave us some lovely summer sun
You did not chastise us for going to bed late and sleeping in even later
You helped us spend quality family time together and enjoy each others company
You gave us the chance to create a scrapbook full of memories with all our adventures
You taught us how to relax and laugh together over even the smallest and silliest of things
You also allowed us to have our individual own time where we just got on with what we needed or wanted to do.
You kindly put on hold Ironing School uniform and making those pesky packed lunches, this I was grateful for
Even with the lows and the highs of the Pirate ship ride at Lightwater Valley, We forgive you
The biggest thing you allowed me to do was be more of a mum, a more relaxed, recharged and better version of me
Thanks Summer holidays, you have given us good times, great times and fantabulous times
Just don’t rush away so quickly next time!

This is so true and is reassuring to me to discover that the holidays retain some of their magic even as they get older! #PoCoLo

To cheer you up, here’s a little ditty about Autumn. xx
Hello Autumn, you’re all golden and blowy
at least you’re not Winter, all freezing and snowy.
The sky is blue and the air is fresh
sadly the kids are all at creche.
The gorgeous summer may have seemed like a dream
but never fear, it’s soon Halloween!
