The Harvester is one of the best family restaurants in the UK. As a family we decided to try the Harvester near the white rose centre in Leeds for a family meal. I thought I would share our thoughts and opinions on how this reasonably priced restaurant performs when feeding my family.
Firstly there are many great things to do in Leeds and after our experience at the Harvesters White Rose the restaurant really is a great venue if you are looking for a fulfilling meal and friendly faced staff while you eat.
When we arrived we were quickly seated and the Harvesters menu was handed to us. Each table at the Harvesters White Rose has a waiter or waitress specifically designated to serve your food and be at hand to provide assistance if required.
Drinks
We were asked after a short while if we were ready to order our drinks. We all ordered unlimited fizzy drinks and we were all provided with decent sized glasses to walk to a nearby drinks station to serve ourselves. You can also order alcoholic beverages and warm drinks with a great selection on the Harvesters White Rose drinks menu.
Unlimited Salad
Every main meal at Harvesters comes with a free unlimited refill salad. Being vegetarian I totally love the range of food available for us non meat eaters, with the famous bread rolls being top of my list every time. In the salad you can have potatoes, pasta, fresh coleslaw and condiments such as blue cheese dressing etc.
Main Meals
At present I counted 5 different choices of vegetarian food on the menu and so much more for the meat eaters. I often find that I am limited whilst eating out as a family to things like bread sticks and vegetarian burgers, which is a shame because I love to try new things. In my opinion the Harvesters menu is quite good at fulfilling the needs of us salad munchers.
The menu is packed with meaty treats for my family, however they always appear to choose the same wherever I go and that’s normally the house Burger. We ordered the bacon and cheese gourmet at £8.99, this came with chips and additional salad. I asked my husband what he thought and he said the burger was quite nice and he certainly looked quite full as he struggled to finish it. My children both had the same and they seemed quite full by the end although as per usual were still wanting a desert.
I choose the vegetarian option cauliflower cheese and tomato tart which arrived at the same time as the meat meals and cost £7.99. Again I thought this was quite reasonably priced and to be honest I was totally full after eating this and the salad from earlier on. I had never really eaten this type of main meal before but it tasted wonderful and I suppose that’s all that matters.
Desserts
Once we had finished our meal we were asked if we would like a dessert and to be honest me and my husband were to full. My sons both choose cookie dough, caramel & chocolate fudge brownie snack from Harvesters White Rose Dessert Menu. I may have had a spoonful or two much to my youngest son’s dismay and I loved the taste and by the look on my sons face, so did he.
Harvesters White Rose,Directions, Contact Info
The Harvesters White Rose is certainly a venue you must visit if you are looking for quick and friendly service whilst in Leeds. The prices are so reasonable and it’s in great location just off of the M62. The White Rose Centre is but a stone throw away by car, which means you can head on over there to do some shopping before or afterwards.
I would recommend pre-booking your meal at peak times because after 5pm I personally thought the place started to get a little busier. Here is the direct telephone number: 0113 2523720
