As part of the Nutrition and Hydration Week, Robinsons has asked me to carry around different flavoured Robinsons Squash’d to add to my water to help keep me refreshed.
I am really excited to start this challenge and hopefully improve my energy levels as one of my primary focuses within the past few months has been to improve my health which is (in my opinion) sub-par at best. As such, when my mum asked me if I’d be interested in participating in the Robinsons Squash’d challenge for Nutrition and Hydration Week, which takes place 13th to 19th of March. I took that as the world’s calling to help me get kick started in my lacklustre efforts in fitness.
To begin with, if there was one word to describe me, it’d be a slouch. I’m quite anti-social (some days never leaving the house) and spend most of my time training my amazing finger strength and reflex gaming on my PC, which I will forever swear helps me in daily life. However, no matter the resolve, I quite simply don’t have the drive to go through with any of my hare-brained schemes on improving my health and as such my overall energy levels are quite low. However, one thing I do is drink constantly – albeit mostly fizzy drinks and Blackcurrant flavoured water. I’ve never been too big of a water fan simply because there’s not much in regards to taste, a major part of any beverage or food product to me.
As such, flavoured water is one of the only ways to get me to drink water (The other being the current used plan, to stick water bottles on my desk, let them build up and drink them when I get thirsty). The only times I’m willing to drink water is in my packed lunch as I have no alternative!
Now I can carry Robinsons Squash’d with me wherever I go thanks to the handy sized concentrated little bottles, it even fits perfectly in my pocket and school bag so I can liven up my water wherever I go and mum loves the fact it only contains 3 calories or less per 250ml serving and contains real fruit in every drop. I love the fact that it comes in seven tantalising fruity flavours.
The only fitness I currently am privy to is when my mum quite literally drags me out of the house to be pulled to the gym, which for minors is only open on Saturday and Sunday. Every so often, when my Dad comes to see me we go to the gym as well but as my parents are separated it’s not always easy, considering he currently lives in a different city. So, it’s in this sense that the opportunity presented to me in the form of the Robinsons Squash’d challenge gave me a reason to get off my chair and into the open air. There’ll be updates over the coming week on multiple different social media outlets, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so if you want to see how the challenge goes stay tuned and be sure to return for the final post at the end of the week.
