Join Rachel Stevens and Mums and dads who have already taken part to donate a blanket to the Dettol Baby Blanket campaign to help babies in need.
Dettol has recently launched a special Baby Blanket Donation charity campaign, with the aim of highlighting the dangers of bacteria on blankets, along with the sad statistics which reveal that there is a real shortage of baby blankets available to infants born to disadvantaged families. Once collected the baby blankets will be hygienically washed with Dettol Anti-Bacterial Laundry Cleanser, an additive that kills 99.9% of bacteria even in temperatures as low as 15°C, before being re-distributed to families. Dettol has also pledged to donate £1 for every blanket donated to Sparks – a children’s medical research charity. You could make an amazing difference by donating just one baby blanket and with Dettol Antibacterial Laundry cleanser ‘keep the memories, not the bacteria’
Why the Dettol Baby Blanket Campaign is so important
Hear what Rachel Stevens had to say about the campaign
“I’ve got all my mummy friends donating their blankets and I’m trying to get as many people involved as possible. It’s a brilliant campaign in itself but now I’m a mum I am even more aware of how much washing there is to do. With Dettol Anti-Bacterial Laundry Cleanser I get to do loads of quick washes at low temperatures and I know that things will be hygienically clean and germ free.”
My baby blanket memories
I have fond memories of both my boy’s 1st blankets, I can still remember the smell of my babies wrapped up in their soft snuggly blankets, all cosy, clean and cute as a button. Both blankets are carefully wrapped with care and placed in their memory boxes along with first shoes, curls and memorabilia.
Baby blankets symbolise a very special time in both a mother and child’s life, holding many precious memories of the early days of life. However, many babies across the world will never get the chance to experience even the simple comfort that a warm, hygienically clean blanket brings and thats the reason why the Dettol Baby Blanket Campaign is so important.
How you can help babies around the world have a warm, clean blanket too.
Parents can share their memories and support the Dettol Baby Blanket Campaign on the company’s Twitter page using this hashtag #share the memories . Why not visit Dettol’s Mission for Health Facebook page. All Blanket donations will be collected until the end of December 2015.
