Dulux Bedroom in a Box Avengers Edition
Dulux Bedroom in a box, hmm, I thought to myself is that even possible. A bedroom can be quite a challenging feat to say the least and especially in our home. My son’s bedroom has been slightly overdue a makeover, so when Dulux and Tots 100 asked us to try out the amazing new product I kind of snapped their hands off.
I trust Dulux to give you high quality products and their paints are always been used throughout my home. There is nothing worse than having to paint several coats on a wall when you know if you had paid a little more for quality, it could have been done in half the time.
Regardless of trust, I was a little dubious to say the least at Dulux Bedroom in a box. You have to ask yourself will they provide enough paint to cover an entire room including all of the doors, skirting boards and dado rails.
Well, there is only one way to find out! Let us get started and see what the Avengers Dulux edition can actually achieve.
Preparing the room
Jake has not had a bedroom makeover for a short while, I would say for at least 3 years now. The reason is simple that we just have not had the time or money to achieve what we have wanted to do. So rather than do a job half-heartedly, we have put it off. We started by removing as many of Jakes personal belongings out on to the landing. Jake has gone to his grandparents for the day, so we are under a little pressure here, can we rise to the challenge along with our Dulux Bedroom in a box, with such limited time we probably would have to be an Avenger to make this happen.

Dulux Matt 25 litre First Dawn
Dulux Quick Dry Satinwood 750ml Polished Pebble,
Polycell Maximum Strength Wallpaper Adhesive
Armed with our brushes, we set to work
My husband started with the lower half of the bedroom, we decided to leave the top white because this has been freshened recently with a Dulux white emulsion and I love the contrast between the colours, however, there is more than enough paint to cover the entire room within this Avengers Dulux Bedroom in a box.
My thoughts on Dulux first dawn Matt Paint
Brilliant, it is fresh, funky and it covers the green on the lower half of Jakes room perfectly. This was at first my main worry, just how long is this colour going to take to cover, let me tell you we did it in two coats. Perfect Dawn makes the whole room feel far larger and has really made the room look bright again.
My Thoughts Dulux Quick Dry Satinwood Polished Pebble
Generally, when doing any form of woodwork, we use gloss paints, however they can smell quite strong. The Dulux Quick Dry Satinwood Polished Pebble has next to no smell at all which is great for doing a childrens bedroom, and the paint really does cover just as well if not better than gloss. The Dulux paint itself glides on to the wood and covers in just two coats, this made my husband smile because he hates glossing normally. Not only that, but the paint is adorable, we have already begun to imagine using this around the rest of our home in future, well done Dulux.
Painting of the room is complete
Now it is time to put up the Avengers Mural, my husband does not do a lot of wallpapering normally but as you can see, it has turned out pretty well. I think Jake will love this; he is such a fan of the avengers’ characters. Once the walls preparation is complete, I would say the mural has taken around 1 hour to put up. The panels are rolled into 12 pieces, all placed in the correct order allowing you to remove one at a time and put the picture together effortlessly.
The vinyl itself is fairly thick and durable which is great because inside of childrens rooms knocking into the walls with toys is a regular thing.
The difference is outstanding
The mural certainly makes the room complete, the colours you receive inside of the box are simply perfect. The bedroom has taken hardly any time at all to complete and all was done inside of the day, a long day might I add!
The Bedroom feels so much larger than before and Jake really loves his new and improved bedroom.

You have reassured me about putting up a mural. My grandson would love this bedroom makeover but I thought the mural would be difficult and end up creased.

Looks nice. Sensible for a child’s room. As their interests can change :- Alternative mural, rather than have to wall-paper the whole room.
