I am a Friday’s child and the Friday Funky Feeling is definitely something I like to incorporate in my home, The vibrant shades and bold designs of the Funky Friday feeling are my number one choice for decor in my home.
I love the monochrome look with shades of limited colours or hues, In my eyes it is a sure-fire way to add impact and drama to your interior design. It can give an extremely classy feel to your home, whilst at the same time by carefully adding a few bold and sometimes obscure objects in a room it can add an eclectic, modern, edgy feel to a living space. Although it’s a simple palette, the question is what ‘style’ of Monochrome do you go for!
This flocked Skulls Black Wallpaper by Barbara Hulanicki is a fantastic way to add ‘fun’ and ‘funky’ to a room. I can imagine this on a feature wall in a lounge or even a bedroom. I would add statement pieces including a statement Retro telephone in black, oversized mirrors and quirky lighting.
This Eccentric Black / White print wallpaper has a more delicate, quirky, yet romantic feel. Perfect for a Monochrome bedroom or hallway as it has a lovely calming feeling to it and whilst been dramatic and funky it is not overpowering.
This unusual Monochrome wallpaper is entitled World Heritage Black/White has an extremely busy print, yet as it only features 2 colours it actually appears less busy to the eye than it actually is. This is one of my favourite wallpapers at the moment. If I was to decorate a room or wall with this particular design then it would definitely be a talking point when guests came to the house. I would make sure to keep any woodwork in a crisp white and feature silver or white furniture with only accents of black.
Accessories to complement the Discovery Trend ‘Funky Friday’
This striking typography cushion is perfect to bring a fun, quirky atmosphere into your home, In Keeping with the Monochrome look! The oversized Castle key adds a quirky feel to any room in the house. I have this key on the wall in my living room and it looks so much more expensive than the £20 price tag!
This Happiness Typo wall art is a key piece to any room where you are wanting to do the whole monochrome look. Adding more than one print to an area creates a real statement point.
