Hair Replacement system for hair loss

Hair Replacement system for hair loss

This is possibly one of the most personal posts I have ever wrote, but I feel hair loss in women is not spoken about enough and this needs to change.

After years of suffering from hair loss I have finally found something that works. It has given me back my confidence and made me feel feminine again. Here is my story and how the hair replacement system I had fitted by the fabulous Kayleigh at Kayleigh Jane Hair Extensions has actually changed my life

My Hair loss experience

After having my first child at 18 years old I started pulling out my hair on my head. It was only ever in one or two places and one of the places was on the top of my head so slowly became very visible.

I have no idea to this day how or why it started but it soon became a habit I couldn’t break. Instead of being painful I actually felt a comfort from the feeling of pulling my hair.

After a few years I was told by a doctor this was a condition, one I had never even heard of called Trichotillomania a hair pulling disorder.

What is Trichotillomania

The Nhs say People with trich feel an intense urge to pull their hair out and they experience growing tension until they do. After pulling their hair out, they feel a sense of relief.

A person may sometimes pull their hair out in response to a stressful situation, or it may be done without really thinking about it.

Most people with trich pull out hair from their scalp, but some pull out hair from other areas, such as their:

  • eyebrows
  • eyelashes
  • genital area
  • beard or moustache

Bald patches left on the head tend to have an unusual shape and may affect one side more than the other.

Trich may cause feelings of shame and low self-esteem. Those affected may try to keep their condition to themselves.

My Hair loss Experience

I have had this condition and kept it a secret from many people for 22 years. I finally stopped pulling my hair out about 4 years ago but unfortunately the damage was already done. The hair follicles just would not grow back leaving me with a patch on my head with no hair.

Of course over the years I learnt to style it in certain ways to hide it but you can never hide it on a windy day! Hair loss affects so many people and the majority live in silence as they are too embarrassed to talk about it, I felt the same until now.

My hair before the Tapes and replacement system

I have had hair extensions in the past but it still never covered up the bald patch on the top of my head. Knowing very little about hair replacement systems I decided to have a consultation with Kayleigh and she told me in great detail what could be done to help improve the look of my hair.

Still, I had no concept in my head of how it could possible work and even though I felt I was in very good hands I still felt sceptical.

Hair Replacement System

I was both nervous and excited on the day of fitting but was put at ease straight away. I was alone with Kayleigh in the salon which helped me to relax and within minutes the system began to be fitted and was completed under two hours. It was painless, not even uncomfortable and immediately on top I had a full head of hair again.

I decided to add length and volume so also had tape hair extensions fitted which are the most comfortable hair extensions I have ever had. They feel so light and the quality of the hair is incredible, well I am sure you can tell from the photographs.

The hair replacement system and the tapes do not damage your hair, in fact I dont need to dye my grey hairs so my natural hair is getting a well earned break from being over processed. It worked perfectly for my condition but the hair replacement system is suitable for people suffering from Alopecia, Telogen, Effluvium, female pattern baldness or hair loss due to stress or thyroid conditions. Also for ladies with thinning hair.

As you can see from the pictures the results are outstanding and have given me so much confidence.

Take a look at these before and after pictures, this was achieved in four hours.

To any women out there suffering from hair loss or thinning hair for whatever reason this could be the answer to your prayers. You do need to have maintenance on the hair replacement piece but this is all discussed in the private consultation.

A few weeks on I am still smiling and have found maintaining the hair replacement piece and the extensions easy and believe me I am not a natural when it comes to styling hair.

Why not take a look on Kayleighjaneextensions on Instagram for some more amazing looks and transformations.
