What We Love about Educational Summer Camps
For a homeschooling family, summer camps are a big deal. It’s where my kids get to branch out and experience new things, learn from different people, and meet new friends. Every summer, the kids get to pick one educational summer camp and one sports camp. Because of our vacations and camping trips, we usually don’t sign up for more summer camps than that. This year will be a little different because virtual summer camps are now an option, meaning we can go on vacation and still log on for a virtual summer camp!
Summer Camps For Kids
Summer is the perfect time to enhance your children’s education without them even knowing it. Education, after all, is so much more than worksheets, pens and pencils, and classrooms. Education aimed at developing children into whole people focuses not only on the academic side of a child, but also on the relational, emotional, and spiritual. Summer camps offer a perfect opportunity for kids to engage in something they truly enjoy, forge new relationships, and develop their skills and abilities.
Why Should I Sign my Kid up For Summer Camp?
Summer camps are about more than just a break for parents (although it certainly can be!). It’s also, a time for your kids to branch out and be a little more independent, meet new people they might not have otherwise had the chance to meet, and pursue something they are passionate about.
Summer Camps Let Kids meet Others with Similar Interests
If you’re a homeschooling mom, summer camps are the perfect opportunity to let your kids meet other kids with similar interests, interact with kids their age for extended periods of time, and learn new things. If your kids are in school, they might have a lot of interaction with other kids their age, but they still may not have a lot of opportunities to interact with kids who share their interests. Summer camps allow kids to engage with others who are also interested in what they are interested in. Shared interests are one of the ways people bond, and kids are no different!
What are The Benefits of Virtual Summer Camps?
Virtual summer camps whether they are based on academic or enrichment classes open up a wide array of options that may not be available to you locally. Learning with an LA-based actor for public speaking classes or highly advanced mathematics might not be available in your town. An important part of summer camps is the relationships that kids will make with other kids at camp, and with virtual camps, your children can meet children they would not be able to otherwise in their community.
Brighterly’s Summer Math Camp is the perfect destination for children aged 6 to 15 who want to embark on an exciting mathematical journey! Their camps are meticulously crafted to cater to each child’s math class level, guaranteeing they receive the ideal amount of support and guidance throughout their experience.
Moreover, your kids might be able to do more camps than they would have been able to attend in person. When you sign your child up for a virtual summer camp, you can still travel and go on family vacations without having to miss camp. As long as you have access to the internet, you can log on for virtual summer camp!
Virtual summer camps are also great for kids who are immuno- compromised or have other physical or mental challenges that make it difficult for them to attend a traditional summer camp.
Even though kids really enjoy being together in person, they can also forge new friendships virtually. This is especially true if the kids involved in a virtual class or online summer camp share interests. One of the benefits of an online or virtual summer camp is that kids from all over the country can have the opportunity to meet each other and bond over shared interests. Kids can participate in camps with other gifted students or with those that have unique interests such as classical music theory. Many of these kids would never have had the opportunity to meet one another at local camps. Virtual camps can really broaden a child’s horizons by allowing them to meet people from different places across the United States and cultures in a virtual camp for kids.
