How To Create Halloween Handprint Spiders

October 26, 2014 | 3 Comments

Halloween is certainly one of the best times of the year to be creatively crafty with your children and this wonderful guest post by The Little Life of Ickle Pickle shows you step by step guide how to make Halloween Handprint Spiders.

I have been asked by the lovely Rachel at U, me and the kids to write a Halloween guest post, so I thought it would be a great chance to share my very first craft activity, my handprint spiders!

Now, I am only just 2, so I was a little wriggly when we did these! My big sister Lea helped me, and Mummy and Luke took the photos.

Mummy bought paper plates, black ready mixed paint, coloured card, googly eyes and ready mixed glue. You can get these from most supermarkets and Wilkos.

Lea squeezed the paint onto the paper plate. then I squidged my hand into the paint, and pressed it onto the card.

The finished spiders were quite funny, and didn’t look that much like spiders, but that is what is so good about them, it doesn’t matter really what they look like! The paint was not washable paint, so we had to be careful about getting it on clothes, because it will stain, but it came off my hands fine. We wore old clothes to do this.

They did take a while to dry, then we stuck on googly eyes with glue. The finished spiders could be cut out for Halloween decorations, or given as a Halloween card, or framed as a picture. What a great Halloween keepsake!
