Stockeld Park Christmas Adventure Review

November 10, 2012 | Leave a Comment

Updated 10th October 2015

If there is one thing that fills you with the magical feeling of Christmas then for us folk in Yorkshire Stockeld Park is it. With a magical forest with enchanted fairies and spectacular lighting displays it’s easy to forget where you are during this fun filled Christmas day out in the heart of Yorkshire. Here is our family’s Stockeld park Christmas adventure review.

Christmas with your family is already magical enough! I truly love the feel of the winter air and feel on those colder nights in the UK. As a family we wrapped up warm, placed on our wellington boots and headed to Stockeld park which is located between Wetherby and Spofforth.

After enjoying the enchanting atmosphere at Stockeld Park, consider enhancing your family outing with convenient car hire on rental24.co.uk. With a rental car at your disposal, you can easily explore nearby attractions and make the most of your winter adventure. Discover the beauty of the surrounding areas and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones.

The Christmas adventure takes place deep within the woodland area of Stockeld park which is brought to life after this year from the 2nd November to the 4th of January 2016.  It’s one of the most enjoyable family experiences that I feel everyone should really experience each and every Christmas.

Ice Skating at Stockeld Park

We always start with the Ice Rink each year. The kids love it and to be honest so do us adults. I can’t say I am the best Ice Skater on the planet. As you look around you see their are so many other parents who are like yourself that the odd stumble and fall is part of the norm! Stockeld park have their own safety staff who rush on if anyone is in any danger and this is a very well run area. They have boots to fit all sizes and this really has provided our family with hours of fun over the years.

Nordic Ski through the Enchanted Forest

My youngest son is not so keen on this, albeit he is even scared of Scooby Doo so taking a Ski through the enchanted forest was always going to make him nervous. That being said once he gets going he gets into the spirit and enjoys the lighting and fun filled stop offs throughout the journey. You can either walk or do the Nordic Ski which is in our opinion is real fun. It would be the same if some didn’t slip or trip over the ski’s. In the enchanted forest there are activities for kids and electronic displays which really make the experience wonderful for both children and adults alike. The Journey can take as long or as little time as you like and everything can be done at your own pace as you go through the magical woodland area.

Christmas Maze

Stockeld Park Christmas Maze

Like most mazes there is always an end goal. You have to make it to the centre of the maze and if done correctly still takes around 10 to 15 minutes. Each area is sign posted and you get clues as you head around the maze directing you in either the wrong or right direction. This is fun and the kids absolutely love running off and hiding throughout.

Santa’s Grotto

This is obviously aimed at the younger children and the Grotto is just another lovely place to visit whilst at Stockeld park this Christmas. Each Child gets a gift and the toys are quite nice indeed! Both of mine are a little older now, but as you can see Jake looks really impressed in this photo with Santa, ha!

Gift Shop and Woodland Cafe

Stockeld Park also has a gift shop and a cafe on site. You can get your freshly cut Christmas tree, warm and cold food and lots of great magical gifts and decorations for your tree. We get a new bauble each year so the Christmas tree we have at home always has something new added to it.

Heres a top tip…  Once you have done the activities I truly recommend the lovely Woodland cafe which does the world’s greatest hot chocolate’s in our opinion. This also helps warm you back up from the cold winter nights activities.

I hope you enjoy your experience just as much as we do each and every year at Stockeld Park Christmas adventure.
