Miffy 60th Anniversary – Happy Birthday Miffy!

Miffy the lovable Rabbit is turning 60 years old today 21st June 2015. We will be celebrating all year long with lots of special events organised to celebrate this special Milestone.

Miffy was created in 1955. Whilst on a rainy seaside holiday in North Holland, Dick Bruna entertained his young son by sketching a little bunny that kept hopping around the garden of his holiday house. Each evening he would make stories up about the bunny and soon Miffy was born.

To celebrate this Miffy 60th Anniversary you can buy Miffy’s birthday story book, a beautiful story telling the tale of Miffy’s birthday and what she will be doing on the special day itself.

Read about Miffy and her tale of her Birthday, putting on her new dress, getting a stack of presents, seeing her bunny friends, and best of all Grandpa and Grandma Bun coming for tea. Such a lovely book to read with your child, especially if they have a Birthday coming up too! 

We have been baking this weekend in honour of our loveable friend Miffy and we will be celebrating this special Birthday with an afternoon tea party and lots of Miffy stories.

I will be telling tales of when my Mum used to read Miffy stories to me as a child as well as lots of Miffy crafts and colouring in sessions.

Parents and toddlers this morning are attending the UK charity premiere of miffy the movie at 11am at VUE West End cinema, Leicester Square, London. To celebrate Miffy turning 60 years old.

Based on the stories by Dick Bruna, miffy the movie won best children’s film when it opened in the Netherlands in 2013. The film uses stop frame animation to tell the story of Miffy and her friends going on a treasure hunt in a zoo. It is suitable for children aged 2 years and above. Certificate U, running time is 70 minutes
