Could You Make Your Home More Livable? 5 Ideas For Success

October 3, 2024 | Leave a Comment

Making your home more livable is a goal for many people. It helps you feel more comfortable and pleasant when individuals come to stay.

But how do you do this? That’s the topic of this post. We look at ways to make your home more livable and bring it up to the standards you expect.

Add More Soft Textures

You can start by adding more soft textures to your living space. Including these provides a sense of warmth and comfort that’s hard to get without them.

Try adding cosy blankets and plush rugs to your rooms. Look for ways to add throw pillows that allow the entire space to feel softer and more welcoming.

If you’re on a budget, look for faux materials. These often offer the same level of benefit, but without the elevated cost.

Improve The Air Quality

You can also try improving the air quality. Reducing the number of particles in the atmosphere can promote better health and support your well-being.

Good options include cleaning your filters and using air purifiers. These eliminate microparticles.

If you live in a healthy area, you can also ventilate your space by opening windows. Allowing clean air into your interiors can make a home more livable, particularly in hot and humid climates that are becoming more common.

Invest In Cleanliness

You should also invest in cleanliness to make your home more livable. Keeping everything hygienic and learning how to get rid of roaches is essential. The cleaner your property feels, the happier you will be.

Don’t be afraid to spend money on making your house as clean as possible if you think it will help you. Investing in things like carpet cleaning and deep oven cleaning can change how it feels, putting you in a better position.

Create A Calming Colour Palette

You can also invest in creating a calming colour palette, something that’s been shown to help a lot of people feel more at home in their homes. Neutral colours are the best. These cool and simplify the space, making you more relaxed the moment you walk in through the front door.

The best colours are blues, greens, and greys. These create a more enchanting atmosphere in your home and create a nice contrast to most office décor you’re likely to see throughout the day.

Upgrade Lighting

Another option is to upgrade lighting in your home to improve the mood. Changing it for something better can make a substantial difference, particularly in the mornings and evenings.

For example, a dimmer switch allows you to brighten rooms when you wake up and dim them before bed. Arrangements like these help you attune your home to your body clock, making it work for you, and not the other way around.

Lamps are an excellent option for the bedroom because they are so adjustable. You can place them on bedside tables, sideboards and cabinets to adjust and refine the light in a specific space, making it feel more like home.
