Countryside living – How to make the most of your view

September 26, 2019 | Leave a Comment

Many people move to the countryside because of the beautiful scenery and peaceful surroundings. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, it opens up a huge range of opportunities for you. Always wanted more space? Sorted. Want to start growing your own vegetables? No problem. From rustic cottages to renovated farmhouses, there are plenty of properties available in the extraordinary British countryside. If you live in the country and are starting to realise that you aren’t making the most out of your view, here are some ideas of how you can really make the most of that priceless scenery!

Invest in thin frame windows

This easy change is perfect for those looking to not only update the look of their property but who also want to really make the most of the surrounding landscape. Thin frame windows, like those from Sheerwater Glass, are ideal for countryside houses as they will increase the amount that you can see when you look out from your property. Bringing plenty of natural light in, you can spend your days admiring your garden and beyond. Practicality wise, the slim framed windows are also watertight – so in the winter, you won’t have to worry about any draughts creeping in.

Cut down trees/bushes blocking your view

If you have a large tree or bush partially blocking your view, it might be a good idea to cut it down. Not only can it take away from the beauty of your surroundings, but if it’s located close to the house, it could cause numerous problems when the weather starts to turn. Now, you don’t have to cut down all of the greenery – that’s what partially makes the landscape so wonderful after all. But if you have one/a couple of trees that are taking up space that you could use or they are simply obstructing your otherwise spectacular view of the landscape, cut them down!

Purchase outdoor furniture

There is nothing quite like sitting out in your garden on a warm summer’s day. And if we are lucky to have an Indian summer or a particularly hot spring even better! In order to enjoy your outdoor space to the full, you can invest in some good-quality outdoor furniture. This can be as simple or as extravagant as you wish, Patiomate has a great range – no matter what you choose, you can take full advantage and use it to indulge in an afternoon of enjoying the countryside views.

Invest in mirrors

People often don’t realise the amount of natural light that mirrors can produce. But when you live in the countryside, it’s not only the natural light that you will want to enjoy from the comfort of your house. A wonderful benefit of mirrors is that they will bring the views of the outside into your living space. Whether you place them in your bedroom or living room, they can reflect the incredible landscape that exists outside of your property so that you can enjoy them no matter what the weather.
