Holiday Inn Kid’s Food range
Magical Mealtimes
Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts have partnered with London-based food futurologist The Robin Collective to create ‘Magical Mealtimes’ – a new children’s condiments menu which encourages the hotel’s younger diners to have some fun with their food.
I have stayed in many hotels with my family and I always see children at tables crying ‘Can we go yet? or ‘I don’t like my food’. Parents are often having to rush their meal in order to stop their children throwing a paddy in front of the rest of the dinners.
Holiday Inn Hotels really cater well for families. Not only have they introduced Magical Mealtimes in selected locations, all Children aged 12 and under can stay and eat for free.
launched in selected hotels across the Uk and Germany, the new menu comprises a selection of playful food items which are designed to enhance the dining experience for kids and their families by actively encouraging children to play with their food. Mini Heston Blumenthal’s will enjoy adding drama to their dinner with exploding parsley herb poppers, whilst budding Picasso’s can get arty with their fish and chips using ketchup piping bags. For young diners with an experimental palette, roast dinner flavoured straws will transform their glass of milk into something quite unexpected.
Savoury Soup Boats
My son was very excited to try out the box of treats we were sent to try. The first thing we tried out was the Toast boat sails, we attached the pre cut sais to our pieces of toasted bread and then let them set sail in our Tomato and basil soup. By simply blowing the little boats we moved the boat across the bowl having a boat race whilst cooling the soup at the same time – result!
Sherbet Sprinkles
My eldest son tested the sherbet sprinkles and poured the sherbet filled straw over his vanilla ice-cream, not only did it make his ice-cream sparkle, it tasted really good too and transformed an ordinary desert into a taste explosion.
Chocolate Spoon
I may not be under 12 but I got to try the chocolate spoon in my chocolate mousse, double chocolate – just how I like it!
Exploding Herb Sprinkle
This was our favourite condiment that we tried out, It was so much fun watching my 11-year-old son pull what he expected to be a party popper over his Fish & Chips. My husband came in the kitchen and immediately said “What are you doing!’. I loved the shock and surprise on their faces when they realised parsley came direct from the party popper over the fish & chips.
Flavour Straw
I will not ruin the surprise you get when you try out the flavored straws, It really is a huge surprise and a taste explosion!
Ketchup Piping bag
I would have loved to have tried out the piping bag but unfortunately my kit didn’t contain the plastic piping bag, I am sure it is great fun to use.
We really enjoyed ‘playing with our food’, The only thing that would have made it more perfect is if we had been eating this in the Holiday Inn resturant itself!
* We were sent these goodies to try out from Holiday Inn, All the views and opinions are my own*

What great ideas….I love the soup boats & the Chocolate Spoon sounds brilliant x
I love the sail boat idea, what a great way to keep the little ones entertained whilst their soup cools.
Looks lovely!
