A Great Night’s Sleep Guaranteed !
Our Family Trip
Last weekend we took the train from Leeds to London for our eagerly awaited trip to Earls Court for Eurogamer 2013, we had struggled to find accommodation with the 70,000 visitors that were at the gaming event that weekend.
I was so happy when Premier Inn came up with a solution to help the whole weekend plans still able to go ahead.
We were invited to the Premier Inn london City (Old Street) which was an ideal base to travel to and from both Earls court and Kings Cross station. In fact only 2 stops on the underground from Saint Pancras tube station to Old street tube station, which is only a few minutes walk to the hotel.
Ideally located not only to the tube station but close to a traditional style public House, Starbucks, various takeaways and local stores.
A home from home
From the moment we stepped through the doors we were greeted with such warmth & friendliness, we were a little taken back to be honest, nothing appeared forced or fake just pure and simple friendly hospitality. The staff on reception even wore badges with flags on showing the languages they spoke, very handy for guests visiting from foreign countries.
The hotel had a lovely relaxed feel to it with a fully manned reception area, spotlessly clean and a very stylish bar/Restaurant area, very cozy and inviting!
Family Rooms
The Family rooms at Premier Inn are really spacious and have a double bed, sofa bed and a put you up bed, everything was made up for our arrival and a huge stock of fluffy white towels.
One thing that was surprising and really handy was the amount of plug sockets in the room; this may sound strange but we have stayed in many Hotels before where we were unable to plug-in laptops, hair straighteners and mobile phones at the same time.Something a modern family really need and very rarely get.
After a busy day at Earls court on Saturday it was fantastic to settle down in comfy beds with plenty of pillows and a snuggly duvet, ready to wake up early the next day to sample the breakfast.
Premier Inn breakfast
Sunday morning and preparing for another busy day at Gaming Expo, first a hearty breakfast was on the cards. We were in a bit of a rush but luckily there was no queue for the restaurant and we were seated straight away by a very bubbly and smiley member of staff.
The whole breakfast procedure was explained to us and what specials we could order, after making a Costa coffee we served ourselves at the hot breakfast counter. There was a huge selection of hot breakfast food to choose from.
If you prefer the healthy option and to Give yourself a boost in the morning, you can tuck into the range of healthier options including granola, cranberry juice, fresh fruit salad and detoxifying selection of herbal teas.
We didn’t and opted for omelets from the specials menu and plenty of hash browns, sausages, bacon, beans and toast.
As we were in a rush we were even asked if we would like some take away cups to put our coffee and juices in to drink on the tube, how thoughtful!
Premier Inn even have a ‘kid’s under 16 Eat Free’ and ‘Eat as much as you like’ policy
I highly recommend this hotel as the perfect base for any family trips to London central, you will not be disappointed.

We’ve yet to brave a night in a family room but it sounds as if Premier Inn make it all quite easy. Shame about the hubby’s snoring though!
