After having a baby, my hair turned incredibly thin and brittle. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had my fair share of hair treatments, including extensions and continuous dyeing but this was next level. With cosmetic shampoos being rough on hair and styling products making hair fall out, I knew I needed to do something. When Philip Kingsley sent me their Trichotherpy set and exfoliating hair mask, I knew it was TLC time!
Who is Philip Kingsley
Phillip Kingsley is the leading authority in hair and scalp health. The company know the science of hair and scalp back to front and understand that healthy hair is a way to a happy life. Kingsley’s products are tailored for every type of hair by using a holistic approach which means perfect nutrition will maximise hair potential.
Trichotherpay
Aimed at those with fine, thinning hair, the Philip Kingsley Trichotherapy set is an easy three-step daily regime that provides instant volume and root lift. It’s most effective when followed alongside a balanced diet and lifestyle (sorry, time to ditch the chocolate buttons).
Step 1 – Volumising Protein Spray
This formula is designed to reduce hair loss caused by breaking when we brush or comb. It improves hair condition and is rich in anti-oxidants which moisturise and improve shine. The key ingredients which make this spray so unique are green tea extract which provides the anti-oxidant boost, hydrolyzed elastin which provides elasticity, strength, bounce and shine. Other life-saving ingredients include polyamide-1, (helps to provide volume and increase fullness) organic qunioa protein, (has essential amino acids that repair damage, protect cuticle and provides hydration) and finally, oligoquat M, this has moisture binding properties. Wow, the joys of science!
Simply apply to clean hair and comb through.
Step 2 – Volumising Hair & Scalp Treatment
These scalp drops combine selected ingredients that have taken 7 years to develop fully. Protecting against environmental degradation and giving the appearance of more volume, you simply apply with the 2.5ml pipette (definitely feels like a science lesson!). pop evenly across the crown and front area of the scalp, not rinsing. Personally, I’d recommend doing this step when it’s night time if you’re a little paranoid about the greasy look!
Step 3 – Hair Nutrition Formula (Tablets)
Hair tablets are quite controversial, do they really work and how fast? One box of Philip Kingsley hair tablets contains 90, you need to take two tablets per day with food and after 4 months, reduce to one tablet per day. The supplement contains vitamins and minerals which include Iron, vitamins D3, C and B12. The formula also includes Zinc, Biotin and Selenium which help the maintenance of normal hair and copper which helps with pigmentation. So, really, even if you aren’t worried about your hair, these are the perfect multi-vitamins!
Philip Kingsley Exfoliating Scalp Mask
Preferably used once a week, this makes hair feel incredibly fresh. I simply dampen my hair and apply all over my scalp in partings. Simply massage it gently (and it feels very good indeed!) and leave for 10-20 minutes, perfect for a cuppa. Rinse off and towel dry hair! We all suffer from dandruff at times and it is a pain. No one wants to have a flaky black jumper, do they? Combatting the build-up of dandruff, the blend contains exfoliating and moisturising properties. This product is made for all hairstyles and contains aloe vera to soothe and add suppleness to the scalp which will aid healing.
If pregnancy can’t knock your body off track, nothing can! This is an ultimate life (hair) saver! Exfoliating mask RPR £8.00-£17.00. Full Trichotherapy Regime costs £120 or individually for £35, £50 & £45.
