It’s collection day in Playmobil City! The big, heavy rubbish truck drives up and comes to a stop, and the two bin men standing on the back skillfully jump off to discover the rubbish they are about to tackle. These hard workers are faced with two full bins and a container at the side of the road! Who knew Playmobil City could be such a mess? This rubbish simply has to go…this is a job for the truck! To empty them, the two bins can be opened, placed into the holder at the rear, lifted with the help of the lever on the side of the lorry, and emptied into the back.
So, as you can tell, there’s a lot to do with garbage collection. All garbage cans and containers in the residential area MUST be emptied. Luckily, the Playmobil recycling truck has many brilliant details and aspects that make it perfect for the job! Firstly, the attention to detail in this toy is incredible. The truck includes a flashing light, just like real life! This means that children are able to make an almost realistic city setup. I’m sure the residents of Playmobil City will never miss bin collection with the flashing light on the truck. The truck will not only be noticeable to the Playmobil City residents with this addition, but I’ve also found it a particularly useful detail in teaching my daughter about all of the wonderful and different vehicles we watch out for on the road: the one with the flashing light is the garbage truck, just like her toy! This makes for a cute little addition to the toy overall.

This toy also features a removable roof and lever for lifting and emptying garbage cans. Truthfully, I have found this to be the most exciting aspect of the toy. Gone are the days when children need to simply place the rubbish in and take it out with a huge stretch of the imagination. Just to fully immerse themselves into the Playmobil City experience further, there is a life-like lever system to hold the rubbish, tip it into the truck and drop it. This detail makes for more fun, interactive and enjoyable experience with this toy in my opinion.
Once you’ve used the lever system to collect the rubbish and empty it into the truck, there’s only one more thing left to do: dump it! The rear section of the truck can be tilted back and the entire truck can be emptied via a flap placed at the back too. This means that, once the rubbish is collected, it can back up to a landfill, tilt back, and be completely emptied. And what’s left to do once it is all completely finished? Well, there are a few choices; go back to a luxurious life in Playmobil City or, alternatively, start again! Every day can be bin collection day.

This means that there will be a team of employees and certainly no lack of rubbish. The possibilities are truly endless and, with that, the fun is limitless too!
