Minecraft Papercraft (Overworld) Shelter Pack

Minecraft Papercraft (Overworld) Shelter Pack

When I found out Minecraft had released Papercraft Minecraft sets I was very excited, then when I found out I was going to review one of the sets I was ecstatic. As an adult maybe, this indicates I need to get out more!

As many of you will know we are massive Minecraft fans, the boys play the games and read the books and we all went to Paris in 2012 to ‘Minecon’.

We were sent the Minecraft Papercraft  Overworld Shelter pack from Character Options, which contains over 48 pieces, all pieces are made from good quality card. In this kit, no glue or tape is required.

How did we rate it?

I was expecting the blocks to be a lot smaller than the actual size and didn’t expect the quality to be so high. I was also very impressed that when you built a brick the tabs actually stay in place even when moved around and arranged into a shelter pack, just like the ones you have in the Minecraft game.

Jake who is 11 was fully competent at assembling the blocks and could fully put one together in a couple of minutes, he was fully engaged with building the shelter pack and was eagerly looking forward to playing with the set once built. So much so he is already saving up to buy the Minecraft deluxe pack which has a ‘creeper’ included!

The set is suitable from ages 6+ although I feel some adult assistance would be needed at that age.

I am so impressed with the Minecraft Papercraft sets, at last, I have found something that held Jake’s concentration other than a computer, I love the fact you did not need any extra items, everything you need to build these sets are included and my favourite part  is there is hardly any mess at all!

I give this Minecraft Overworld Shelter pack 5 out of 5 stars for value for money, enjoyment, quality and, of course, fun factor.

I am pleased Jake’s birthday is approaching as I cannot wait to get another set for me as much as Jake, I want a sheep and TNT!

Sure the game would be quite popular, as believe there are many used to playing it on other formats.

I bought these for my 11 year old and although he likes the finished result he found the building a bit repetitive.

Does it actually get them off the computer???!! My eldest loves Minecraft and reads the books in bed, he and his 4 year old sister play it a lot together and with daddy. I don’t get it, it looks boring!
