The 3 Best Ways To Beat The Summer Heat When You Don’t Have A Pool

October 28, 2022 | Leave a Comment

Summers seem to be getting hotter every year. It is harder to stay cool as a result. Those that have pools have it made since they can take a refreshing dip when things get uncomfortable. Those that don’t need to find some creative ways to cool down during the summer vacation. If you don’t, then you could be in for a long and unbearable summer that you can’t wait to end.

There are plenty of ways to stay cool in the summer even when you don’t have a pool. It’s simply a matter of knowing what your options are. In this article, we will go over several ways that you can stay cool.

Beat The Summer Heat – Water games

Getting wet is essential to be able to stay cool in the summer. After all, this is what a pool is for. However, without a pool, you’ll need to invest in some water games to be able to keep the kids cool and entertained. Even the adults can play and get wet and stay cool and refreshed.

You can start out with bounce house slip-n-slide inflatables to play some water games. These are inflatable vinyl bouncy slides that you put a hose over so it has cool running water on them. The kids take a running start, dive onto the inflatable, and slide across. Some of them even have a small pool at the end to land in for extra refreshment.

If this is out of your reach budget-wise, then there are sprinklers that twist and turn for the kids to jump through to stay wet and cool.

Use passive cooling

Running the air conditioner all day and night will cost a fortune so it is a good idea to stay cool in the house without needing to turn the A/C on. There are some passive ways to keep the house cool that you can take advantage of. For instance, keeping it shady in the house will help keep it from heating up. The sun beating through the windows is what usually makes it hot inside. Keep the blinds down all day and you will notice it is a few degrees cooler when you do this.

With a fan running, you can encourage cool air to circulate and stay much cooler than if you sit without any A/C.

Beat The Summer Heat – Use a mister

Pick a shady spot in the yard or a patio if you have one and install a mister. This sprays a light mist of water over you and makes you feel cool. The mist absorbs the heat from the air so the surrounding air is cooler. The mist on your skin evaporates and cools you down too.

If you can’t run a mister outside then buying a small electric handheld fan that also uses mist will help you keep cool on a budget. Combine that with a cooling towel on your neck and you will feel like the heat wave doesn’t exist.
