Recently, I was sent some products from My Hair Boss by Lisa Shepherd. My Hair Boss has a range of hair products to treat each and every hair issue, colour, and style. I can’t lie, I have a new obsession with hair products these days and I really couldn’t wait to try them out! I got sent the Grow and Glow Shampoo and the Clear Shine Gloss.
Before writing this review, I wanted to give the products a try so I could give a fair assessment. When trying new products, I always prefer to try them a couple of times first before I can really give an honest review. There’s nothing worse than reading a review when you know that the person hasn’t even tried it, right? Anyway, let’s delve into the review.
Introducing The Hair Boss
First of all, let me introduce you to the brand itself. The Hair Boss is a brand created by Lisa Shepherd, a leading hairstylist. Lisa’s aim was to create a hair care ritual involving 5 steps in total, where you can use different products for each step. This personalised step-by-step regime aims to give your hair optimal results and to treat your hair with the care and nourishment it needs. The entirety of the brand revolves around the concept of a 5 step custom care plan made to treat your hair and particular issues. I find this concept particularly refreshing as it really highlights how the brand is centred around the customer and their needs.
The 5-step hair regime consists of a pre-treatment, followed by ritual cleaning e.g. shampoo, then conditioning and care next comes to style and lastly colour care. You can choose products for each step to suit your hair needs, a really clever and thoughtful concept if you ask me!
Not only does the brand consider the needs of the individual, but it also tackles much wider ethical and sustainability issues. Yes, just when you thought The Hair Boss couldn’t get any better, all products are vegan and cruelty-free, so much so that the brand is Leaping Bunny-approved.
With being such a considerate and luxury brand, you would think that the products would be difficult to find in stores and maybe even just be an exclusive online brand that is super expensive and “high-end.” Let me tell you, you couldn’t be more wrong! Yes, the brand is high quality and luxurious but it is also an affordable brand (ranging from £7.99 to £19.99) that can be purchased online or in stores such as Superdrug. Quality hair care has never been so accessible!
Grow and Grow Shampoo & Clear Shine Gloss
That’s enough of my rambling, here are my thoughts on the Grow and Glow Shampoo and Clear Shine Gloss. Let’s start with the first product I used – The Grow and Glow Shampoo. I would like to immediately jump in with the fact that I was extremely impressed by this product. It’s so simple and easy to apply, squirt from the bottle, warm it in your hands and apply it to wet hair: just like using your usual shampoo! I have definitely noticed a visible improvement in the condition of my hair and, might I add, it feels so much nicer to the touch! My hair is soft, much more smooth and super shiny! In terms of application, the shampoo lathered really nicely and didn’t take much product at all – it will be sure to last you a long time.
Once I had massaged the shampoo into my hair and rinsed it, it was time for me to use the Clear Shine Gloss as part of the overall ritual cleaning 5-step regime. The Gloss is to be applied after using shampoo and massaged through the hair to ensure even coverage. This should be left for 20 minutes and then rinsed: by this point, you can then continue with the rest of your hair care regime. After using the shampoo, and the gloss and then drying (and styling) my hair, it became very clear that this treatment had already started working WONDERS. It left my hair feeling soft and silky whilst looking just as luxurious too. I found that the gloss really brightened up my hair and prevented it from appearing dull and lifeless. If miracles can be done…..they have been bottled and named The Hair Boss.
Conclusion
So, to answer the all-important question “would you recommend The Hair Boss products?” Yes, I would recommend the products over and over. They are very high quality and show visible results within a matter of a few washes. What more could you ask for? A vegan-friendly and cruelty-free brand that is affordable, effective and luxurious?
