2016 is coming to a stop, and 2017 is definitely on the rise after my recent visit to EGX where I got to try out lots of upcoming games and products. With many new and fresh, exciting titles coming up next year, It’s hard to focus on what’s out right now! Here I’ve compiled and given mini-reviews on some game titles which you can purchase right now. These are the best games of 2016, Steam Edition.
The first game to be featured on my list has got to be none other than YouTubers Life. Do you like The Sims or idle based games? Then you’re bound to like this one! The overall aim of the game is to become the world’s greatest video blogger (or YouTuber) in the whole world! You get to edit videos, build and customise your room and characters to expand, get followers and to turn yourself into a wealthy fellow. One of my favourite features about this game is that It’s one that can be played and enjoyed in small amounts. Nothing is tying you down to a 35-minute match; you’re free to save and exit the game at absolutely anytime making this the game for you if you have a busy lifestyle, or you just want to waste a little bit of time!
Battlerite has claimed its 2nd place appearance as this is a good one! Battlerite has only just been released and has since, received an overwhelming amount of good reviews on Steam. This game is definitely for you if you enjoy the likes of League Of Legends & World of Warcraft Arena. It’s MOBA styled camera view, and very skill shot based PVP combat make it a unique game, to say the least. It’s an experience like no other brawler can bring you at the moment so It’s worth the purchase! Not to mention that when this game is fully released, it will be entirely free to play! Similarly to YouTubers Life, Battlerite is good for the casual and the competitive gamer, It has a competitive ranking system making it suitable for those individuals who want to climb the ranks and feel like they’ve earned their titles. But on the other hand, the matches within the game only last roughly around 5 minutes, making this a nice game on-the-go.
Shattered Skies is next! Are you a huge fan of first and third person shooters? Then this is most likely the game for you. This game can be played both solo and with friends however from my experience I would recommend that you team up with some friends or fellow rogue players in the game because this is where it gets tricky. This game quickly turns quite competitively team based, working with your friends to capture the reactors around the map and to eliminate other enemies to claim their loot. This game in it’s current overall state gets my seal of approval, however, It’s very time-consuming and you will need to put in some serious hours before you’ll get good at this.
Roguelands, It’s your time to shine! This game is all about embarking on an epic journey as a Galactic Cadet. It’s a hardcore multiplayer RPG like no other if you enjoy fast paced, hardcore style gameplay then picks this one up with your friends! Team up with 3 of your friends and take off to the galaxy, destroying monsters in your path, upgrading your weapons and putting your precious loot at risk for higher rewards. That’s right! If you die in this game, you lose what is in your inventory at that time. This game is one of the cheapest options to purchase from my list & I would recommend this 100% if you have friends to tag along with you on this one! With such a small developer team, It also feels great to support upcoming game developers and to help make their dreams in the industry come true.
Saving the best for last? That’s right Golf With Friends! If you haven’t yet heard of this game, then you’ve probably been living under a rock, or maybe having a life which doesn’t evolve around so much gaming addiction! This game provides everything, the fun factor, the excitement, the laughter and all at a fraction of a regular Steam game. This game retails for just under £5 which is incredibly cheap for this Steam title. You can team up with up to 12 players or friends to take part in a fast-paced, amusing crazy golf experience. Although this may not be the most original game on the list, It’s still got one of the highest rankings from me simply because of how much fun I had playing this game; there’s something very satisfying about playing crazy golf on your PC! You just can’t beat it!
