Baking and cooking with your little ones is not only delicious (and possibly slightly messy) but is a wonderful creative outlet that encourages thinking, problem-solving as well as organisational skills among the other obvious benefits of baking yummy treats. It is a valuable life skill that everyone needs and is also a great way to avoid picky eating with the little ones at dinner time.
Exposure to baking and cooking from an early age is fun and useful in so many ways; mainly, though, it’s just a brilliant way to spend quality time together. I must admit, with my sweet tooth and my little girl’s messy and playful antics, baking seemed like the perfect solution! When I saw Xavier and his magical blueberry muffins storybake cookbook I instantly fell in love. What better way to make baking fun and entertaining for children than an interactive story to follow along with until you reach the delicious destination!
A Magical Children’s storybake Cookbook

This book is truly one of a kind! Such a unique and wonderful way to express a recipe. I cannot recall ever seeing a recipe written as a story like this and I imagine it will add another element of fun to an already enjoyable and entertaining activity. I imagine it will also help with reading skills as an added bonus – educational and tasty! Your child is much more likely to want to read a story bake recipe than a regular one for sure.
I’d first like to highlight (and appreciate) the beautiful illustrations. Having 3 children, I’ve read my fair share of story books over the years. I’m a huge children’s picture book lover, to say the least, and the illustrations in this book are phenomenal. I absolutely adore the pictures of cakes and pastries that Xavier is dreaming about and the page of blueberries made me smile when I noticed some of them were squashed! I would consider this book a magical and interactive baking experience simply based on the fact that the illustrations bring the story to life.
StoryBake – Baking Fun

Additionally, this story bake book is available as a free PDF download – baking fun just got more accessible! I personally really admire the fact that this is a story/ recipe readily available to anyone, but if, like me, you know that nothing compares to the real feel of a physical book, you can order a physical copy to hold a special place on your bookshelf or with your cookbooks. I would also like to add that this book is a limited edition copy and really does make for a special addition to our collection of recipes and cookbooks: it is like nothing we have ever had before!

Now we couldn’t have properly experienced the true magic of this storybake cookbook without following the recipe, so we quickly got to the baking of our yummy muffins. After a while of storytelling and playful baking, we were left with the most delicious treats! The muffins came out light, moist, and absolutely delicious: they were perfect! Certainly, a recipe to keep in the family. After all, Xavier really did show us how to bake our own magical blueberry muffins.
