Eradicate Allergens with Dyson Cinetic DC54™ cyclones2

Eradicate Allergens

I recently was invited to attended a Dyson event at Westfield Shopping centre London, with my youngest son Jake.

After 3 hours on trains from Yorkshire to London , going to the wrong Westfield Shopping centre, we finally arrived at the Dyson Event.

I was truly excited about the chance to try out the new Dyson Cinetic Vacuum as Vacuuming I am pretty embarrassed to say is one of my favourite things to do, with Ironing coming a close second.

My boys both have Asthma & Eczema, My husband is allergic to pet hair and suffers from Hay Fever, So trying to find a product to help combat some of these symptoms is my number one priority. we usually look into products that contain mometasone furoate to help with the skin conditions

We were given a very thorough in-depth presentation from one of the Dyson engineers. He explained the technology and the extensive research that has been done including engineers spending 9,000 hours testing the vacuum; equivalent of 500 years of vacuuming the home. The Dyson Cinetic has also been slammed sideways into steel blocks 200 times in side impact testing. £136,000 was spent on aggressive test dust and Dyson’s test engineers ran our suppliers dust stocks dry.

He then demonstrated, proudly, the product for us: You can tell just how proud the guys at Dyson are of their new baby!

I was in my element at the event, seeing the very latest Dyson Invention up close. Which one should I choose?

Dyson reveals the truth about home allergens

Let me start by saying thank god Dyson have enlightened me on this subject! Who knew your home could contain so many creepy crawly creatures, which include dust mites that are hidden deep within children’s teddy bears, our bedding and even in our cosmetic brushes, this was a shocker!

I know about dust mites, yet did not realise just how many of these are hidden around our homes, but its nice to know just how we can combat them thanks to Dyson.

Dyson have identified through their very own microbiology lab, which is the only appliance manufacturer to have this in facility in Europe. Dyson have conducted research to determine the best way to rid your home of the dust mites, thankfully  someone is taking this seriously. Dyson also have specially trained engineers who examine dust mites under their microscopes, It’s safe to say that Dyson take this challenge rather seriously.

Why do we suffer?

I have allergies and to be honest people like myself, just tend to get on with things and never really research what the dust mites are and where they can be found throughout your home. I am guilty of this too, we need to know more about our homes and how germs are spread so easily.

Dust mites

“Facts you need to know about dust mites”

Dust mites are the number one cause of home allergies

Dust mites feed off shredded skin cells (This fact makes me want to wrap myself in cling film)

Dust mites feces are so light they actually float in our air and inhaling them causes allergies.

The mighty Dust might hide away inside beds, sofas, carpets and our children’s toys.

Your bed has 3 million mites in it alone.

Humans shed about 30,000 – 40,000 skin cells per minute close to a packet of crisp “yucky”!

Even moving around in your bed disturbs the dust mites

These are just a few of the fact about dust mites in your home and thank to Dyson we now have a way to eradicate these mites.

Let’s beat the mites together!

Start by Vacuuming your mattresses on a regular basis, this helps pick up the dead skin cells and assists in eradicating the dust mites.

Freeze your toys, yep that’s right place your children’s teddy bear in the freezer because the cold kills the mites, they just can’t handle a cold snap.

Take your shoes off before you walk in the home, you could be fetching things like pollen, dirt and dreaded dust from outside.

This seems to be a running theme, freeze your cosmetic brushes just for a few hours, they don’t need any more than that. Try to freeze items at least once a week, this could also be the cause of the odd rash you may well be getting.

“Fact: dog saliva can make you sneeze”

allergens

We could literally go on forever about allergens including Pollen, mould, dogs and cats, you must research these things because they could well be causing you to feel ill and you may not even be aware of it.

Not only do Dyson appear to be the leaders of research but they are also making leaps with their technology too, which I didn’t think was possible. They first created the vacuum that no longer required a bag or had no loss of section and no fussy filters.

Dyson know that cyclonic vacuums cleaners often rely on filters to capture the dust, these can clod and cause loss of suction too. The latest Dyson technology uses Dyson Cinetic™ cyclone technology, these appliances don’t need filter maintenance, washing or replacing, making life a little easier for the mighty dustbuster in your home.

Meet the New Dyson DC54!

Dyson Cinetic™ cyclones

Smaller cyclones generate higher centrifugal forces and capture smaller particles. But the tighter the cyclone, the more likely it is to block. Dyson engineers have created cyclones with flexible tips. The spinning airflow agitates the tips, setting up an oscillation which prevents dust from sticking to the cyclones – keeping them clear.

Dyson engineers went through 50 iterations of the technology using different materials: if the material is too hard, the tips cannot oscillate enough to move dust through to the bin. If the material is too soft, the airflow causes the cyclones to shut, blocking them off.

Carbon fibre turbine head

On carpets the stiff nylon bristles remove dirt. On hard floors the ultra-fine antistatic carbon fibre filaments remove fine dust.

Dyson Ball™ technology

Sitting on a ball, The Dyson Cinetic™ vacuum has a low centre of gravity and is easier to pull without snagging on corners or the carpet pile. Coupled with a unique central steering system, the vacuum uses an articulating chassis and central pivot point for negotiating tight turns and circumnavigating sofas.

Umeandthekids were lucky enough to actually take a look and play around with the new Dyson vacuum, and believe me its amazing, using the Dyson can actually pick up far more dirt that is clear to see. Surely this will help with eradicating the dust mites and other allergens from within your home.

Watch my son go head to head with a standard vacuum against the Dyson Engineer with the  Dyson Cinetic DC54, You will be amazed with the results!

Great review thank you! I am looking to buy a new one in the next three months as my present one is starting to become less efficient so will look into buying one of these! I suffer from hayfever so this might help too!

Be warned the bin on this is small and is very difficult to empty. Very badly designed I am sure Dyson are working on correcting this fault at this very moment.Read the reviews from people who own one before buying. You might regret it otherwise.A well known shopping channel has them you can try for 30 days and send back if you don’t like it.The bin is the worst, having to empty it all the time and getting your hands covered in dust whilst doing so.Its a great shame because it is a brilliant vacuum cleaner .

My husband and son suffer with allergies so I had thought about buying one of these but the price was putting me off. I am a bit more convinced after reading your blog.
