Puffin Rock- preschool series premiering 18th May on Nick Jr

On the 18th May 2015 at 06.30pm Nick Jr will be airing a new animated series called Puffin Rock. Narrated by the lovely and extremely funny Chris O’Dowd, who co-wrote a series based on his childhood called Moone Boy for Sky 1. We were lucky to get a little sneak peek at the very first episode.

My little nephew loves Nick Jr so I invited him to come along to watch a preview episode of Puffin Rock titled Pond Life…. This show is most certainly aimed at younger children I would say 3 to 5 years, although that did not stop my husband sitting down and watching it too!

Puffin Rock has my favourite tv slot time of 6.30pm, giving you time to clear away after the tea and snuggle up with your little one in their pj’s ready to watch a new Puffin Rock adventure.

Puffin Rocks Theme Tune..

Firstly let me say “WOW” the voice to the theme tune by Kate McCafferty who voices Puffling Oona.. Is wonderful. The music and Kate’s voice complement one another perfectly making you quickly begin to sing along to the song. Puffling Oona’s baby brother who is called Baba sings whilst the theme tune is playing too.

Puffin Rock Pond Life

Puffin Rock is based on an Irish Island and follows the adventures of puffling Oona, her little brother Baba and their family and many friends.

Whilst the programme is cute, fun and ideal for your little one. It also has a fantastic educational aspect to it too. We all know children are like little sponges and learn by soaking everything up around them.

In the episode we watched called Pond Life, we learnt about the cycle of tadpoles, Pond Life and generally caring for creatures. A good lesson for all our little ones to learn wouldn’t you agree?

So, make a note in your diary for the 18th May at 6.30pm to meet Puffling Oona and her friends.
