Aladdin A Rock and Roll Pantomime Review

August 6, 2012 | Leave a Comment

What fun we had yesterday evening watching the final performance Aladdin A Rock and Roll Pantomime at the City Varieties in Leeds.

This was a pantomime like no other pantomime I have seen before and I have been to all the pantomimes in the Leeds & Bradford area, it was truly spectacular.

It was the first time I had visited the City Varieties since it shut down for a major refurbishment and I was very pleased to see they had kept the original layout and the original features and added a few extras like a glass lift which looked spectacular.

I was surprised to see not only families here but adults with no children enjoying the show. The actors and musicians were very professional and knew just how to get the audience participating, at times adults and children were up on their feet dancing and singing along with the cast including my 15 year old son who thought he was too old for pantomime and there he was on his feet clapping and dancing along.

I took my mother along with me and my children and when we left she said “I feel like I’ve been on a proper night out!”

I would definitely recommend everyone to visit the panto when it come back later this year and see the line-up for other family shows that will be on throughout the year.
