We all know that a new baby is a wonderful addition to the family and after nine long months of waiting for your new little bundle of joy to arrive when they do make their first appearance parents have to be ready and prepared for them. The amount of things that are needed for such a little baby is immense!
Lists can go on and on with everything this new baby will need from the must have items like nappies and blankets to the more expensive items and ones that take more thought like the Pram and which Baby Monitor you will need.
From experience, once your baby arrives they take over your life and that includes your home. When my eldest son was born my once clean and tidy home turned into ‘baby land’. Everywhere you walked I had Moses baskets and swinging cribs, A pram and pushchair in the hall and endless amounts of toys, bouncy chairs and bibs scattered around the room.
I think I went a little overboard with buying things for my new baby whilst I was pregnant, believing He would need everything. When I had my second child I was defiantly more practical, Buying the things I really needed and two of my top items was a practical comfortable pram that would fit in the boot of my car and an Easy to use and well-made baby monitor .
Why do you need a baby monitor?
Most new parents find themselves checking on their babies whilst they are sleeping probably a little bit more than needed, I was defiantly that parent.
With a baby monitor, you can hear your little one whilst they are sleeping and alert you if they wake up. They are so many baby monitors on the market you can often be overwhelmed with choice and the price tags can vary so much that how do you really know which is the best without trying them all out for yourself?
The Tomy TFV600 Digital video baby Monitor
I was asked to try out the Tomy digital video Monitor and give my honest views on the product.
The Tomy TFV600 digital video baby monitor comes with a main parent unit and one unit for baby. The LCD screen on the main unit is a lot larger than expected measuring 2, 4”and has a Backlit screen for increased visibility during the night.
The main unit has tonnes of other features including a sound level light display, so even if you turn the volume to zero if you want to watch a film without any noise disturbance you can still see stay alert visually to your baby’s needs.
Another amazing feature on the main control unit is the temperature display, showing you what the temperature is in the nursery so your baby can stay at the right temperature in all seasons, one last thing for a parent to worry about!
The baby monitors also have a range of 250m, making them perfect for all size homes, a rechargeable parent unit, so no worrying the batteries will run out, saving you money too.
Other features include Night vision, sound activation mode, Pager just in case you misplace the main parent unit, belt clip for hands free use.
My thoughts on the Tomy TFV600 digital video baby monitor
I tested the monitor using the help of my sister and nephew Gabriel. We both can quite honestly say is the best baby monitor we have ever used. We were and still are amazed with the clarity of the picture on the parent unit screen. With the monitor positioned correctly in Gabriel,’s room we could see the pattern on his baby grow and his chest rising and falling as he slept.
When he came to stay at my house equipped with the baby monitor, I was able to relax without running up and down the stairs to check on him as I previously did.
With the monitor set up and the Parent unit switched on I could listen or watch him as he slept soundly whilst still enjoying some relaxing time watching TV or catching up with some work on the PC.
My favourite feature on the Tomy monitor was the ‘Two Way Talkback’ When Gabriel started stirring I could reassure him on my way upstairs whilst talking to him. From the main Parent unit you can adjust the night light on the baby unit and even play nursery rhymes using the remote control on the parent unit.
If I could recommend one thing to any pregnant mum or dad to be, it would be this Tomy baby monitor as it gives you complete piece of mind and is so easy to use.
The Tomy TFV600 Digital Video baby Monitor costs £99.00, which is a great price compared to some of the other digital baby monitors on the market.

Great review.
What perfect timing! I’ve just returned a monitor that I was really disappointed and have been looking for reviews to help choose a new one. So glad you added your Tried & Tested to @FamilyFever.
Thsi looks great – does the job you need it to, and at a reasonable price too. Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested

I had a long should we, shouldn’t we debate about monitors with my husband, so reading how people love them is another tick in the ‘yes’ camp … #TriedTested
This looks like a fab monitor. this is much up to date version of the one we are currently using. I have to say we have loved ours and would recommend Tomy monitors to many parents!

Great Review. I wondered the other day whether I should have got a different monitor with Baby M, this sounds like a great one #TriedTested
We have this monitor too – it’s a great price point for a video monitor.
Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested this week x
This was a good read – we have been really disappointed with our monitor and I almost don’t trust it now if that doesn’t sound too silly !
Hi Rachel,
I’ve been looking for the best baby monitor to buy. after some reading, my choices narrow down to 2 options: this Tomy baby monitor and the Levana Sophia. have you had the chance to review the Levana Sophia baby monitor? any recommendation?
Patricia I haven’t had the chance to review the Levana Sophia yet, I will see if this is an option. I can say that this baby monitor has been amazing it works really well and it’s far better being able to see your little whilst they are not in the same room. I have always used Tomy products because they are well built and always deliver the best products. You certainly will not go wrong purchasing this baby monitor.
