Loving to read and learn is something my youngest son loves to do! He has a massive collection of Childrens Books which he enjoys to read each and every day. The Middle School, The Worst Years of My Life is a particular favourite which was written by Author James Patterson which was first published in the USA on June 27th 2011 by Little, Brown and Company on June 27, 2011.
On many occasion I listen to my son laughing from the pit of his tummy whilst reading this book which is the first in a series of hilarious childrens books written by this author keeping your kids engaged throughout each and every single chapter.
Synopsis: Middle School The Worst Years of My Life!
Rafe Khatchadorian has enough problems at home without throwing his first year of middle school into the mix. Luckily, he’s got an ace plan for the best year ever, if only he can pull it off: With his best friend Leonardo the Silent awarding him points, Rafe tries to break every rule in his school’s oppressive Code of Conduct. Chewing gum in class–5,000 points! Running in the hallway–10,000 points! Pulling the fire alarm–50,000 points! But when Rafe’s game starts to catch up with him, he’ll have to decide if winning is all that matters, or if he’s finally ready to face the rules, bullies, and truths he’s been avoiding.
One of the Best Childrens Books Ever!
In Author James Patterson’s unique and funny style this book delivers lots of humorous moments. When my son began to read the Middle School collection which has five books he instantly became attached to them wanting to know just when the next in the series would be released. The Middle School is the very first in the series and it truly sets you up for the following titles as you follow Rafe Khatchadorian (Oh my gosh what a long name) through his middle school years. This childrens book actually captures exactly what is was like at Middle School and what growing up is really like although it’s written with a fun and quirky approach.
You will learn about Rafe and follow him through his school days which will keep your children hooked throughout. Poor old Rafe has a less fortunate home life which his mother’s partner contributes to. Rafe is also being bullied and continues to struggle keeping his marks at a good standard whilst this is all going on. I love the fact the author has made Rafe very real with slight worries and upsets that most teenagers face, I found this helped my son as he makes the transition from tween to teen because he was bullied and this book in a way helped him cope knowing others faced the same. Although it sounds all doom and gloom it’s truly not because Rafe manages to actually keep his head held high and manages to be humorous through the entire book. Weather you are young or old the author has managed to capture something that resonates with each and every one of us. I love it, my son loves it and I am positive you and your children will love this book too.

Is it the same James Patterson who writes adult thrillers? It sounds like a book my nephews would love! #readwithme

My daughter is 6 but a very avid (and excellent) reader and I think she would love these. Going to add them to my wishlist for her for her birthday!
I will suggest this book to my sister in law – her kids might enjoy (mine are too young at the moment)
