Dice Masters Yugioh Starter Pack Review

September 2, 2015 | 1 Comment

Dice Masters Yugioh, by WizKids is a Collectible Dice Game. It is a dice-building game patterned after Quarriors that features custom dice representing various characters from the 4K Media show.

It is a simple game to play once you have mastered the rules. During a turn, a player draws and rolls a number of his dice, purchases additional dice, and fields character dice to attack the other player. A player wins once the opposing player has been reduced to zero life.

Yugioh Dice Masters

I am reviewing the Dice Masters Yugioh starter set which I was very excited for as I am a huge Yugioh fan and collect & play the trading card game.

This set includes 8 Monster Cards and 10 Action cards and 4 Colour Code Cards! Furthermore, It contains 44 dice in the same proportions. As with Dungeons and dragons It also includes a pair of die bags (Red & Blue) and a Manuel.

Here is a Card list:

  • Blue Eyes White Dragon x1
  • La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp x1
  • Celtic Guardian x1
  • Time Wizard x1
  • Dark Magician x1
  • Harpie Lady x1
  • Kuriboh x1
  • Red Eyes Black Dragon x1
  • Crush Card Virus x1
  • Change of Heart x1
  • Mirror Wall x1
  • Horn of the Unicorn x1
  • Monster Reborn x1
  • Mirror Force x1
  • Swords of Revealing Light x1
  • Waboku x1
  • Mystic Box x1
  • Spellbinding Circle x1

Unlike the Dungeons and dragons set which I have previously reviewed, each Monster Card includes only 1 copy of them! Furthermore, whilst the cards in this set are a tad lackluster compared to the Dungeons and dragons set, the dice more than make up for this. With my ultimate favourite dice, a see through Harpie Lady, It has such fantastic detailing with the symbols on the dice making them shine! The dice in my opinion are of much better quality in this series compared with the Marvel Dice Masters sets.

Yugioh Dice Masters

My only real negative points with this Dice Masters Yugioh set is the fact that there is less choice of cards than the previous sets, although there is still enough playability. The terminology change is also slightly confusing.

Additional cards and dice to expand your collection can be found in expansion packs. Each Foil Pack contains two cards and two dice that players can add to their Yugioh collections.

I found it really helpful to download the free playmat avalaible here from Wizkids Dice Masters Official Website. A good tip is to laminate the paper game mat as we did to be able to use them again.

This starter set cost £14.99. To find your  nearest stockist, look on the Store Locator
