Welcome to the Flow House indoor surfing

When I was asked to visit Flow House the new attraction at Xscape, I had mixed feelings of excitement and fear more fear actually.
I knew very little of this lifestyle venue and decided not to research it and just go ahead and go with the Flow ( pardon my pun).
The venue has so much more to offer than just riding the waves there is also an amazing bar selling yummy crepes & milkshakes, healthy smoothies and light lunches and a Comfy area full of oversized bean bags that attracted all the kids young and old.
A fantastic surf style shop selling all kinds of surfer branded clothes including Animal and West beach.
A family session at the flow house doesn’t come cheap at £99.00 for a one hour session with an instructor and use of wetsuits and boards, but the fun, laughter & family time we all had was priceless.
After a brief safety session and a quick change into a rather fetching wetsuit it was time…rather nervously we joined 3 other ammeter surfers and were soon put at ease by our very friendly and encouraging instructor.
We did however have to watch as an audience ( anyone can come along to watch and get a feel for it) gathered along with my 15 year old son who had chosen to stay dry and be photographer/cameraman during the session, the pictures he took are priceless and I am sure one day they will be used against me as a bargaining tool especially the one where I went straight off my board right in front of where he was positioned.

Getting our Flow on at the Flow House

Flow house is definitely what I would call an extreme sport and I used muscles I didn’t know existed and tried moves I didn’t ever think I would dare try.
It is such a friendly atmosphere and no one is in competition with anyone else, you all just take it at your own pace and try new moves when you feel ready.
The force of the water is far stronger than you would expect and the first time you come off your board and feel the waves push you to the top its amazing(I could have just done that all lesson)
We came away from our experience a bit battered but very Happy and proud of our achievements and very hungry and already planning our next visit.
My son took to this really well as kids normally do and is wanting to start lessons which are at a very affordable £15.00 per lesson at the after school Surf club at 4.30 & 5pm Weekdays.
Parents may be interested to learn that Flow house do Birthday Parties, imagine the children’s faces if they were invited to a surfing party!
Flow house sell gift vouchers for an ideal gift and are always running various promotions and money off vouchers so make sure you check on line before you visit @ flow house.co.uk
Make some real fun family memories this Easter Half-Term and watch your children’s faces when you tell them “we’re going surfing”!

My sister held her son’s party there last week, expensive but fun. Although I don’t know what you think, but I think everything is dear at Xscape.
