The Easter weekend is just around the corner and with four glorious days off to enjoy with friends and family, we’ve got some Easter weekend ideas to help you make the most of the beginning of the bank holiday season.
Enjoy an Easter brunch

Whilst Easter might be known for its chocolate eggs, you can get your long weekend off to a ‘cracking’ start with a big brunch. Invite your friends and family around and cook up a storm. Dress the table with daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths for a spring theme, and enjoy pancakes with fresh fruit, hot cross buns, and of course eggs!
Make an outdoor cinema under the stars
If the weather stays clear, then why not make an outdoor cinema. Grab some comfy floor cushions, blankets, (a patio heater), a white sheet, and a projector. There are loads of new films dropping on streaming services in time for Easter, including The Boss Baby, Family Business, and Dune.
An after-hours Easter egg hunt
Easter isn’t complete without an egg hunt. Up the stakes by making your friends hunt for eggs in 2022 in the dark. When the sun sets, send your friends off to scavenge for eggs. Turn down the lights and turn up the music and make an occasion of it. Glow sticks and lanterns can light the way and you can even award a prize to the person who finds the most chocolate Easter eggs!
Old school games in the park

April often sees record-breaking temperatures, so why not take a hamper of your favourite drinks and snacks to your local park. Spend the day reliving your youth and play old school games, like rounders, football, croquet, and even tig!
Big kids, little kids, and even your four-legged friends can get involved. You may even find that strangers want to join in for a fun day out all the family can enjoy.
Road trip to the coast
Regardless of the weather, you can’t beat a trip to the coast. Whether you’re lucky enough to live near one of the UK’s prettiest beaches, or you need to set off at the crack of dawn to reserve your spot on some golden sands, there’s no shortage of seaside escapes to get away to.
Head to the south coast for a spot of surfing and sunbathing or visit the east coast for picturesque seaside towns and villages. If rugged landscapes are more your thing, the Scottish and Welsh coastline has plenty to offer.
