Official Minecraft Handbook & Annual 2014 for Beginners!

October 23, 2013 | 27 Comments

What you should know about the Minecraft beginner’s handbook. This week my son Jake has received the Minecraft handbook and Minecraft Annual to give his thoughts on. These will make amazing gifts this Christmas for your Minecraft loving kids. They are not only superb for your kids but if you have ever wanted to know a little bit more about Minecraft this is certainly a helpful guide for parents too.

Minecraft: The Official Beginner’s Handbook

As soon as Jake got home from school and found the Minecraft handbook, he jumped straight into my big double bed and began to rifle through the pages. After over an hour relaxing reading the book, he headed straight to his computer and began to build a cottage on his Minecraft game. This Minecraft book gives a step by step guide on “how to produce a cottage” on the Minecraft game.  Even though my son has been playing the game for well over a year, well in fact since the game was made and was even in Beta stage. This book is great for both experienced and beginners because he has always wanted to know how to build a cottage like the one illustrated in the guide.

Even though the Minecraft Handbook is entitled a ‘beginners handbook’ there is always something that even the most hardcore Minecraft fans can learn from it. I had a little go of the game myself using the guide and although my son found this rather funny, I actually quite enjoyed attempting to build my first house using the book. I soon got into it a little better and the endless laughs from my son made me even more determined.

The book looks extremely nice and is hardback with a rather impressive looking cover, even my eldest son thought the handbook looked like a great collectors item. You can learn many things that you just would not know when you first start playing the game. All the information is extremely accurate and comes with lots of tips! Some of these tips are from Mojang the creators of Minecraft the game. This is topped off with helpful advice from some of the biggest Minecraft players with their personal expertise.

Minecraft: The Official Annual 2014

When I was young, I loved collecting Annuals at Christmas there was nothing quite like having your favourite cartoons or shows displayed in one great hardback book. In the Minecraft Annual 2014, although not in as much detail as the Minecraft Handbook. This particular annual still provides you with guides to enable you to build and create with gamer’s and experts top tips.

You also get ideas for craft projects and quizzes like you get in some of the best annuals. How long did you spend trying to complete tasks from books like these or drawing around the mazes and completing word searches? My  son loves books and he genuinely has used this book quite often it’s great for the younger children or simply any fan of the game itself.

The Minecraft Annual 2014 is a must for your family, I would certainly recommend both of these books to make a great gift this Christmas.

*Thank you to Egmont Publishing for sending these amazing books for Jake to review, all the thoughts and views are our own*

In my house, it is Black Ops instead of Minecraft. I love playing video games, so instruction manuals are right up my alley.
