How to make a Mother’s Day card with Stampin’ Up UK

Mothers day is only a couple of weeks away so it is time to think about getting your Mum or a special lady the perfect card. Forget store bought cards, homemade cards are extremely popular, no matter how crafty you are, mums always appreciate the thought and effort that goes into a homemade mothers day card. I still have the very first card that both my boys made me at nursery. Stampin’ UP UK have put together a step by step guide to create a rather magnificent looking card for you to make at home for your Mum or special lady this Mothers Day.

Materials List:

  • Crazy About You Stamp Set (Wood 138856, Clear 138859, Photopolymer 137137)
  • Neutrals Cardstock (131283)
  • Subtles Cardstock (131285)
  • Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad (126974)
  • Hello Honey Classic Stampin’ Pad (133643)
  • So Saffron Classic Stampin’ Pad (126957)
  • Blushing Bride Classic Stampin’ Pad (131172)
  • Flower Medallion punch (137417)
  • 1-3/4” Scallop Circle punch (119854)
  • Subtles Candy Dots (130933)
  • Stampin’ Pierce Mat (126199)
  • Paper Snips (103579)
  • SNAIL Adhesive (104332)
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430)

Step one:

Cut an A4 sheet of Early Espresso cardstock in half along the long edge. Fold in half along the long edge and then fold the front of the card in half again creating a mountain fold.

Step two:

Cut a piece of Whisper White card 3-3/8” x 5”. Stamp the leaves using Early Espresso ink in the upper left and lower right corners. Then Stamp the Mother’s Day sentiment using Early Espresso ink, a little way above the lower right corner leaves.

Stamp the Happy sentiment using Hello Honey ink, above and left of the Mother’s Day sentiment. Then stamp the Happy sentiment twice more, once with So Saffron ink and once with Blushing Bride ink.

Step three:

Cut a piece of So Saffron card 3-5/8” x 5-1/4”. Apply the stamped card front centrally to the So Saffron layer. Cut a piece of Blushing Bride card 3-7/8” x 5-1/2”. Apply the previous layers centrally to the Blushing Bride layer. Apply adhesive only to the lower back half of the layers and adhere them centrally to the card front.

Add a Blushing Bride Candy Dot to the centre of the So Saffron flower and a So Saffron Candy Dot to the centre of the Blushing Bride flower.
