Bobbin Gingersnap Bike

May 16, 2023 | Leave a Comment

There are many milestones both parents and children alike have to face during a little one’s childhood: first words, first steps, and learning how to ride a bike just to name a few! Learning how to ride a bike is a daunting experience for everyone involved and, even though the tears, grazed knees, and grass stains aren’t great, bike riding is an extremely important and often overlooked skill. Bobbin has created a modern, practical kids’ bike with a beautiful, traditional and elegant look – now you can teach your little one to ride a bike with the peace of mind of having a solid, durable and safe bike whilst also having an adorable set of wheels!

Structure and safety

First of all, let’s talk about structure and safety! The Gingersnap 16” kids bike is essentially a miniature version of the adult bike Bobbin also makes. It is designed for ages 4-6, so whether your little one is just learning or is speeding off without training wheels, this Bobbin bike is fit for the adventure!

Additionally, the Gingersnap 16” bike is made with your child’s safety in mind. With easy-reach levers, detachable training wheels, and an embossed sprung saddle, the Bobbin bike has everything covered. A stunning pale pink (also available in other colours) gloss paint finish also allows us to go on a rainy day adventure without having to worry that the bike will get damaged in the “lovely” British weather! The Bobbin bike is durable, safe, practical, and stylish. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Traditional meets practical

If your child is anything like my daughter, there is a high chance you know exactly what I’m talking about when I say it is near enough impossible to leave the house without a toy or cuddly companion. Yes, it is a daily occurrence to have toys, teddies, and other bits and bobs shoved in a bag so they don’t miss out on our mother-daughter day-to-day adventures: the bike rides with the Bobbin bike are no exception. The handcrafted wicker basket neatly placed at the front of the bicycle is a beautiful, almost nostalgic, touch. With the basket, my daughter can not only bring her toys and teddies along for the ride but also have the excitement of knowing that they are getting a front-row seat to the adventure! This is a design feature that I love! It truly replicates the traditional, elegant look of a vintage bike but still manages to match the practical and modern aspects of the bike as a whole!

Vintage Finishing Touches

When it comes to thoughtful finishing touches, Bobbin has truly excelled! The 16” Gingersnap bike is fitted with a cute little silver ding-dong bell, smart brown grips that complement the aesthetic of the bike, and colour-matching elements such as; mudguards, a chaincase, and stabilisers! Bobbin has truly thought of everything to ensure that your child can travel in comfort, safety, and style!

Think the adventure ends there? Wrong! There is also a beautifully crafted traditional-style safety helmet available at Bobbin. The helmets not only colour match perfectly to avoid a mismatching finish but are also made to completely compliment the vintage aesthetic of the Bobbin bike itself: ensuring a complete look even with the stylish safety element added!

Conclusion

Overall, the Gingersnap 16” Bobbin bike is a wonderfully unique and stunning solution to modern cycling with a vintage and nostalgic aesthetic. With an abundance of thoughtful safety elements, I am able to ensure that my daughter is learning to ride a bike in the most secure and stylish way there is!
