I love Panto Season so when I was invited to see Cinderella Pantomime at the Alhambra Theater in Bradford I was very excited. This was my first visit here since I was a child. It was a perfect opportunity to take my two children and a great chance to see a pantomime again with my mum. Now both as I am an adult.
When we arrived at the stunning Alhambra theater Santa was there to give gifts to all the children. This was a really special touch and with only a few days before Christmas day itself, the loved the gifts. We were shown to our seats and we had a fantastic view of the stage.
The Cinderella Pantomime has Fun, Laughter, Excitement, Romance and even more laughter than any other Pantomime, that I had seen before!
My mum and I laughed so hard. Especially when Billy Pearce was on stage. He plays Buttons and had us in hysterics.
My sides were hurting with the amount of Giggles we had, seriously! The Pantomime was so polished with special effects that normally would be found on hollywood film sets, I was quite impressed. I will not spoil anything by telling you what the special effects were, but you’re in for a treat.
The beautiful Lynda Bellingham played the perfect Fairy Godmother with great jokes and plenty of on stage charisma. Cinderella and Prince Charming were played by Hannah Grover and Christopher Drake. After watching them on stage. You could tell there is real spark between the two. Both had amazing singing voices, and almost brought me to tears throughout the performance with their fantastic sound.
Dandini, the Ugly sisters and Baron Hard up all kept us highly entertained throughout the show. This cinderella pantomime had all the magic and feel of a Traditional Pantomime from when I was a child.
The young dancers on stage were great! let us not forget the Shetland ponies pulling the magical Pumpkin Coach, which looked spectacular.
Whilst Cinderella has kept its tradition, it is also really up to date with breath-taking special effects. After the show we were treated to one last Magical treat. As we left the Alhambra the theater itself, it actually began to snow. Ok this was staged by the alhambra theater, but it really was a lovely touch! Watching children running around in the snow really did top off a great evening. You can find when the next big pantomime or show is on at the alhambra in bradford here.
