We all love a good sit down on a comfy sofa. Who doesn’t love to dive onto their favourite seat at the end of a long day and snuggle up? A sofa can pull a room together, and you can customise it however you want with cushions and throws. Of course, you want it to look stylish and smart for your house too. As you may know, I recently got a new sofa from DFS, a beautiful Chesterfield style with beautiful curved arms and detailed accessories and now they’re bringing out an exclusive new sofa which I know you’ll love.

Now this is different from your average settee; DFS have teamed up with Team GB to support  them in Rio for the Olympic games. Now you’re probably thinking how can DFS support  athletes? What you may not realise is that athletes are working long hours every single day,  pushing themselves to the limit and any spare time they have, it needs to be relaxing and  spending time with their loved ones.

DFS knows relaxation more than anyone and is now the official homeware partner for Team GB. In jubilation of this, Philip Watkin DFS’ Design Director and his team have taken it upon themselves to design The Britannia, a significantly Limited Edition sofa that glorifies Team GB and brings a perfect centrepiece to the home.

So what is The Britannia This sofa is handmade in DFS’ factory, and it is inspired  by the classic Chesterfield, a very rich and traditional look. It is fabric and is a sophisticated light  grey colour and also comes in Natural, Plum and Denim, great for any room and easily adapted. Personally, I am a Chesterfield fan and they can provide a very modern feel to the room but also route back to the Victorian era to give  you that sense of vintage, definitely an ‘in’ trend at the moment. The design team has used  eye­catching golden studs on the arms and the front border of the sofa. DFS have thought  about every aspect of the Olympics and on the Britannia accent chair, there are 233 golden  studs, the number of gold medals we have won at the summer Olympic games to this date.To  me, this is extremely patriotic and makes you proud to be British. The team have done Intelligent research and included little aspects of the Olympics in subtle ways.

The whole sofa set includes a four, three and two seater sofa, an accent chair, armchair, and  large footstool; you’re spoilt for choice! It’s great how DFS have accommodated for  every room size. As an added extra there is a plaque which pays tribute to the DFS team and in  honour of Team GB. I love this sofa and would have it in my house as a statement piece.

I adore the colour and the cushions; detail is everything in my opinion and you can easily make this sofa your own.
