Retro Lifestyle (Old School bottles with straws)

Reminiscing about Old School bottles with straws

Do you remember sitting at school waiting for the milk monitor (the chosen one) fetching your entire class a crate of milk bottles? Oh how the memories flood back, arms folded, legs crossed, backs straight, it seemed the better you behaved the faster you would get your daily fix of milk.  To be honest I have never thought I would miss the old school bottles with straws, although I don’t miss attempting to place the straw inside of the bottle through the foil top because it always seemed to bend. The handpicked collection have come up with the idea of recreating this experience in our own homes for our children, minus the foil top’s.

If you have read my blog before you will know I love quaint, quirky and unusual items, visiting boutique style stores is a passion of mine and my husband’s.  We as a couple do not get as much time as we used to (as i am sure many other parents don’t) – so shopping online for our vintage products is so easy with websites like the Handpicked Collection.com.

Old School bottles with straws £19.95

This stunning set of four old school style bottles arrived in a handy metal basket with carry handles, ideal to carry outside for picnics and garden parties. The bottles were much larger than I expected and we have found them particularly useful to drink milkshakes, flavoured milk and cloudy lemonade from. The kids particularly enjoyed sipping there cool fresh milk through the striped retro styled red and white washable and reusable straws

The old school bottles with straws have taken pride of place in my kitchen, they add a great retro style and feel. I have found the glass is really durable too (not intentionally may I add) because having two boys who can be a little clumsy at times have managed to drop them on a couple of occasions and unbelievably they haven’t broken.

We only had little milk bottles for a short time but these look so appealing. I’ve noticed a lot of cafes serve their milk in tiny bottles rather than jugs these days, very cute
