Essential Nursery Products Tried and Tested

October 5, 2020 | Leave a Comment

Having a baby and choosing essential nursery products is like entering a minefield of the endless choice of baby gadgets. Even for me on my third child so many things had changed, baby products had been revamped and updated and the abundance of baby and nursery products available is immense and to be honest for me a little overwhelming. My mind was spinning with “what brand is best” “Do I need to buy the most expensive” I was in a whirlwind of product choice.

So, to help all you new parents out there I have selected some of the best baby products that can be purchased all in one place at the best prices to create a calming Nursery environment and introduce routine.

Essential Nursery Products Tried and Tested

Firstly, make a list of everything you need starting with the absolute essentials for you, your baby, and your home. My essential list contained high-quality baby monitors, a thermometer, and a good quality mattress, I was concentrating first on the safety elements and the biggest part of my budget was to be spent on these.

Essential nursery products – Angelcare 3-in-1 AC527 Baby Monitor, with Breathing Movements Tracking

Having a high-quality baby monitor with breathing movement tracking really does help with my anxiety with a newborn baby and I have had Angel care monitors for all three of my children. A Baby Breathing monitor that also includes a Parent video unit so you can visually see what your baby is doing is a must for me. Angelcare offers products that can help give parents peace of mind when their newest family members are down for either the mid-day nap or bedtime in the night. Being able to remotely monitor the breathing and overall wellbeing of your sleeping baby allows you, as a parent, to relax and sleep well.

The battery life of the Parent unit is impressive as well as the audio levels that can be adjusted to suit your needs. I love that you can hear and see what is going on in the nursery without having to disturb your little one’s nap and the big plus for me is the Movement Sensor Pad which gives me complete peace of mind whilst my baby is sleeping as it can help notify me if there is no movement within a certain period of time so I can go and check on my little one.

Joie Serina 2-In-1 Swing/Rocker

The Serina 2 in 1 swing by Joie Baby is a sweet soother that gently sways front to back or side to side for a movement to suit your baby. Doubling up as a rocker, simply lift off the seat for convenient use in any space. With five classical lullabies, five nature sounds, vibration, and a soft-glow night light, this seat soothes baby, reclining to three positions for either sleep or entertainment as they play with the plush toys.

I found this baby swing perfect for when I needed a few minutes hands free when preparing the evening meal or making a much-needed coffee and my little one loved it too so a winner for me and thats why it made my essential nursery products list.

Essential nursery products – Mamas and papas snax highchair

From six months your little one will be ready for a high chair and believe me they are the best investment you will make ready for the messy weaning stage. The Mamas & Papas Snax highchair is also ideal for saving space. Not only does it include a handy storage basket for all your dinner time essentials, but the chair can be folded compactly with the tray still attached. The added castors make it easier to move, and the five-point harness keeps your little one safe at all times. With 3 recline positions and 3 tray settings, you can create a space that’s perfect for your little one and a really easy wipeable tray to keep those germs at bay.

Contactless thermometer by Jabees

When I was pregnant this is one of the first purchases I made and it has become invaluable in our household with the older children too. This infrared thermometer has a non-contact design so It’s so simple to use and doesn’t wake your little one if they are sleeping and you want to check there temperature.

My list of essential nursery products I recommend and use could go on and on but the products I have listed are my top buys for any new parent or parent to be. To give you complete peace of mind that your little one is safe and happy and mum and dad are reassured too.

Let me know your top buys or comments on these products below, I love hearing from you all!
