My Little Pony is famously known for being a magic-filled world of happiness, sparkles, rainbows, and – most importantly – PONIES! For many years, My Little Pony has allowed us to delve into the magical equestrian world we all know and love and so it is incredibly exciting to see that My Little Pony is bringing new adventures, characters, worlds, and experiences for us to immerse ourselves in via modern day technology!
When I found out that My Little Pony would be releasing a new game for the NintendoSwitch (and other consoles) I quite simply couldn’t resist and just had to see for myself how magical this new adventure would be and reminisce of my childhood playing with My Little Pony Toys and sharing my love of these characters with my little girl.
Gameplay
Upon starting the game, both I and my daughter fell in love with the story, animations, and voices of the characters. The game has the quality of an episode that would be shown on TV and the smooth animations that make a flawless game: this in itself helps to build an immersive and interactive gaming experience that transports you to the magical world of My Little Pony!
Additionally, I believe that a great amount of care and thought went into preserving the magic of both the game and tv show as I noticed that the characters are designed in great detail and the voices are extremely similar if not the same as the ones that children would hear on tv. The design and function of the game truly do impress me – it is as if they have taken the My Little Pony world in we see on tv and simply made it an interactive and magical experience.
As you delve deeper into this My Little Pony Maretime Bay Adventure, you find yourself tackling obstacles, facing challenges, following an incredible storyline, and learning valuable life lessons along the way! In fact, the entire premise of the adventure is based on a new-generation character from My Little Pony named Sunny. The character Sunny is an Earth pony who is set out to host a huge forgotten celebration of magic and friendship – Maretime Bay Day!
The ultimate goal is to make sure that Maretime Bay Day is a great success and a wonderful celebration and to stop any pony that is set out to ruin it; however, throughout the game you are also given the opportunity to use your magic to put on fashion shows, find the cutest animals, fly with the Pegasi and much more! You are also able to customise your pony by unlocking new skills and collecting new achievements. I believe that each feature is a great addition to the overall gameplay for the player and the magic of the adventure that the game wishes to convey.
Undoubtedly, this game is targeted toward a younger audience so was perfect for my little girl with my assistance of course who is just turning five years old and, as such, it truly does cater to that!
I personally believe that this game is perfectly made for younger players by allowing them to properly interact with other My Little Pony characters throughout the game whilst also enabling them to use their problem-solving skills, creativity, and imagination in the many tasks that help reach the ultimate goal: a magical Maretime Bay Day celebration!
I would also go as far as to say that the game is educational in that the main messages emphasise the importance of friendship, trust, and being kind – this is an incredibly significant message to spread and has been done in a wonderful way!
Final Thoughts
Overall, My Little Pony: A Maretime Bay Adventure is a wonderful game that expands on the magic of My Little Pony and allows us to enjoy a thrilling interactive experience whilst joining the other ponies on this exciting adventure. It is a brilliant game that is certainly targeted toward a younger audience but does so incredibly! It is a fun, imaginative, and magical gameplay experience for anyone – not just the My Little Pony superfans!
The nature of the game makes it versatile and suitable for any gaming fanatic rather than just being aimed at the audience that may already be familiar with My Little pony! It is simply a great addition to any console and game collection and I would urge everybody to join the adventure and help save the Maretime Bay Day celebration! Are you up for the challenge?
