Skylanders Giants 3DS Review

February 15, 2013 | 6 Comments

I’ve been eagerly waiting for the skylanders giants 3ds game for weeks and it’s finally come! My copy of Skylanders giants 3DS is here and its my job to analyse this game to its core and give you information about the story, game play and my personal experience and thoughts on this game.

I am a massive skylanders fan and having the game on the 3DS is awesome because I can actually take the game anywhere with me now!

Skylanders Giants 3DS Review

  • Game play…

The 3DS game-play is completely opposite to the consoles game play as it features jumping , a new upgrading system and levels with  ‘sub’ levels where they contain multiple levels in one setting.

The Elemental gates also return and once again contain a hat at the end and giant areas are now in and , just like the console games , are only accessible by attacking the obstacle with a giant figurine which destroys it. Each level contains challenges which you have to complete to get 100%.

  • The Story Line…

The story starts with captain Frightbeard , the main antagonist of the game , sailing Skylands… Sky? He does this on his mighty vessel the Phantom Tide.

Now Fright beard and his crew were locked in the chest of exile for over 10,000 years by the Arkeyans using his own sword to lock the chest. He’s somehow escaped and its your job to take him down before he gets to the chest of exile!

  • My Personal experience & Thoughts…

I’ve had a blast playing this game  its great fun and I recommend this game to any 3ds owners as you’ll have a great time for your money.

What is fantastic is you can play this game on the move, in the car at Grandparents practically anywhere.

I love picking up each new character with my Pocket Money, even though finding them in the stores is sometimes very difficult and my mum adds pretty stressful!

It is a great feeling placing them on the portal for the first time where I can watch them come to life and spend time levelling the characters up.

Unfortunately there is no multi player for the 3DS version but you can go on-line at www.skylandersgame.com where you can register for an account and as this requires a parents email address it is safe for all ages to play.

You can have a look around your own Skyland’s and after watching the tutorial it shows you the basics of how to move about and interact within Skyland’s.

You can move onto mainland to play mini-games and meet new people.

It is easy to put your characters into the game,as you can either connect your Portal of Power to the PC or use the pass-codes you get with each character.

In my opinion this has much better Gameplay than the first 3DS Game Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure and well worth buying and adding to your Skylanders collection.

  • What I want in the future…

First off I want to know , WHY DO AMERICANS GET ALL OF THE SPECIAL FIGURES!!!!!!!!!! Me and every other skylanders fan in the UK want to know why america get all the special figurines like the minis and the golden cannon  and so many more exclusive figures than the UK gets!

I am really excited for the release of Ninjini a Skylanders Giant.

I would also really love scarlet Ninjini and gnarly tree Rex but I do not think they are planned for release here.
