Smyths Squirrel Play Wooden Sort ‘n’ Play Activity Cube

September 29, 2018 | Leave a Comment

As parents, we want the best for our children which includes their development improving and reaching their milestones. With my ten-month-old, Sienna, I find it essential to have educational toys in order to prepare her for nursery which is why I rely on Smyths Toys.

THE SQUIRREL PLAY WOODEN SORT ‘N’ PLAY ACTIVITY CUBE

At the moment, the main toy that Sienna loves is the ‘Squirrel Play Wooden Sort ‘n’ Play Activity Cube’. The compact cube has 5 different activities for your little one to explore which includes different animals, a variety of shapes and problem-solving activities. The wood it’s made out of means that it is perfect for teething tots and doesn’t contain harmful chemicals like certain plastics. Other features include a removable bead chaser which can be played on top of the cube or remove it and play separately. Using this feature allows your child to improve their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination with lots of fun.

On another section of the magical cube, there is a bead maze with colourful fish which is perfect for developing knowledge of colours and matching circles for problem-solving activities. A turning gear section introduces ‘cause and effect’ which and allows your child to gain an understanding of actions lead to consequences.

QUALITY AND VALUE

Smyths Toys never fail to disappoint me and it’s safe to say I’ve been shopping there ever since my eldest was born. Over the decades, I’ve never had a problem with their products and the cube is constructed in a solid way with many activities to keep your child alert. Sienna is loving playing with the Squirrel Cube and is happy sitting and making her own little fun (perfect if you need a quick toilet run!).  RRP of this product is only £9.99 so even on a small budget, it’s affordable and perfect for a Christmas wrap up (yes, I did say the ‘C’ word). How can you fault a 5-in-1 toy, it means that when you’re off to the shops, you don’t have to bring your whole nursery with you because it should be enough to keep them entertained. The toy itself isn’t too heavy either so you don’t have to worry about it falling on your tot and causing injury and isn’t too big either. The dimensions are 15.7Lx15.7Wx24.8Hcm (height including the bead runner on top).

Another note about Smyths which has recently surfaced social media is the fact that it is majorly affordable compared to other competitors. A lot of other competitors tend to boost their prices up as Christmas approaches but you’ll be saving major £££ with Smyths.
