Jet2holidays have created an incredible nationwide school trip competition, the Ultimate school trip. The trip launched as research shows that schoolchildren want 10 holidays a year and ALL of their school friends with them.
Win The Ultimate School Trip with Jet2holidays!
The lucky winners will get to travel to Sol Katmandu Park and Resort in Majorca. Not only that, but they get to hang out with kids favourites Dick and Dom on an all-expenses-paid school trip.
whilst at the resort, they will take part in fun educational workshops with the celebrity hosts. The workshops will focus on science, history, drama and crafts, as well as giving pupils all the excitement you would expect from a school trip overseas.
In addition to an educational trip of a lifetime, winning classes will get to experience a range of one-off memories such as VIP send-offs at the airport, a welcome dinner with celebrities, and the ultimate school disco and show.
To enter the competition, pupils have been challenged to create and submit their own ideas on how to promote Sol Katmandu Park and Resort. It can be in the form of a poster, poem or video, just let their imaginations run wild!
It’s not just one winner either, an incredible 9 school classes will win a long weekend away, from Friday 20th April – Sunday 22nd April 2018 in the beautiful Majorca. If that wasn’t enough another 45 schools will each get £1,000 worth of school equipment vouchers.
To mark the launch, Jet2holidays polled the nation’s school children to discover the hilarious, heart-warming and sometimes downright odd things younger Brits would want to see in their ultimate world, with some interesting changes emerging.
- The research shows that the world is in very good hands, with 84% saying they plan to make the world a better place and 77% saying they could do a better job than most politicians and world leaders.Given that revelation, it is perhaps no surprise that the ultimate world in the minds of schoolchildren involves some radical leadership changes at the top. When it comes to the next Prime Minister, Simon Cowell gets the vote of today’s schoolchildren, followed by Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Arianna Grande, and Dick & Dom themselves. No politician makes the top 20.
- Children don’t plan on all work though, with pupils demanding an average of ten holidays a year, and all of their school friends in tow with them. Mum and Dad had better get saving, as their ideal amount of spending money is no less than £16,006 for each trip – just the small matter of £160,060 for parents across the ten holidays!
These also made the list that younger Brits would want to see in their ultimate world:
- Mandatory three- day weekends
- No bedtime
- No limits on screen time
- Mum and Dad to spend less time at work
Encouragingly, children expressed a strong desire to learn, with not a single respondent wanting to get rid of schooling, although almost half (47%) would reduce the number of hours they spend at school. School trips, friends, and brilliant teachers come out as the top things about school – and receiving a telling off the worst.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “It’s great to see the heart-warming and positive things that would make our children’s ultimate worlds and we’re excited to launch the
Ultimate School Trip, which goes a long way towards bringing some of these to life. School trips provide many of our best school memories and create some of the most valuable and lasting educational experiences. They give children the opportunity to step out of the classroom and experience History, Geography, Science, and the Arts in amazing new locations. This once-in-a-lifetime trip to Sol Katmandu Park & Resort certainly does that and we are looking forward to seeing all the entries.”
