Clear Aligners – 4 Ways They Make Life Better

December 16, 2020 | Leave a Comment

Taking the kids to the dentist is something that parents try to do to help get them used to the setting. There may be the occasional loud groan at the idea, but reluctantly children will do what they’re asked to do. When they’re sat in the dentist’s chair, they often fear what will be needed –especially if they tend to eat sugary desserts and sneak the odd can of soda when no one’s looking.

Sometimes, a dentist will recommend dental services to consider for the kids. The adults bringing them along to the dental office may also get a teeth cleaning and polish while there. The subject of braces may arise when it becomes clear that one or more teeth in your child’s mouth are not developing as hoped by growing out a little crooked compared to the rest. This is especially the case in front-facing teeth which are far more noticeable.
Indian Trail Invisalign and other clear aligners from dentists in your area are a newer choice over the option of metal braces. They’re not perfect for every situation, but a dentist can advise better about this. However, they do have the potential to make life better than here’s how.

Fewer Worries for Parents About a Child’s Discomfort

No parents like to observe one or more of their children in pain. They want to rush over and soothe the pain somehow. Getting a pair of braces fitted is something that, while likely to correct teeth misalignment issues, is one that may cause an undue amount of pain to the child. The use of nighttime clear aligners for teeth alignment issues that are considerably less severe offers the chance to correct alignment problems without discomfort. For children who are fussy eaters and sensitive to many different things, it’s a welcome relief to parents that they have another choice.

No Regrets Over Money-led Decisions Due to Better Affordability

Invisible braces, which clear aligners are often referred to as cost roughly one-quarter of what you would spend on wire braces. For middle-class households, this may be somewhat less of a concern. However, for people at the poorer end of the spectrum, providing adequate oral care for their kids is more difficult to achieve. Sometimes, decisions must be made to not have a child’s tooth realigned with braces due to the cost of them.

Fortunately, with the introduction of clear braces, this is no longer as much of a concern. Most clear aligners come in at under $1,500 and sometimes they’re even less expensive than that. There are payment plans to spread the cost over time too, making them even more affordable. It’s certainly worth reviewing the difference between Clear Braces vs Wire Braces to see how they stack up. ALIGNERCO is well placed to advise on what the major differences are, and their helpful article is linked above. Their service is simple to use if you opt for clear braces; all you need to do is order an impression kit and their aligners will be custom made for you or your child.

Less Need for Dental Adjustments

When wearing braces, they often need adjustment to reflect that a child is always growing. Some areas might become too tight and others too loose. This affects both comfort and how effective the braces are when this happens. As a result, they may need occasional readjustment which is not a a positive point for any parent or their child.

With clear aligners, they don’t have metal areas or connections that can loosen over time. As a result, it’s far less likely that an emergency repair will be required, or minor adjustments needed. This means fewer dental appointments and less inconvenience for the family.

Easier Management for the Kids

Braces are a pain to always need to wear. When eating food, there’s no way to remove them. Because of this, children often find that food gets stuck in their braces which is difficult to get out later. By offering the option of clear aligners instead of braces for smaller teeth alignment problems, kids can self-manage by removing the aligner before consuming any food or drinks. This removes any apprehension about the inconvenience of wearing an aligner which isn’t possible to do with braces. As a result, kids are usually much happier dealing with wearing an aligner because it doesn’t get in the way of leading a normal life.

For parents, oral care for their children is no small matter. It’s often a concern about how much dental work will be needed and how affordable it will be. No parent wants their children to suffer, and seeing them climb into the dental chair inside the surgery is no picnic. Therefore, it’s natural for parents to seek out less invasive or non-surgical options wherever possible. Clear aligners and aligners for the night time only are some of the better choices available to parents when entering a dental surgery. They can resolve developmental issues for a son or daughter’s teeth without anything like the discomfort or expense to do so. Also, they’re usually only worn for under a year.
