Combat hair thinning and hair loss – the battles of menopause and perimenopause

June 1, 2024 | Leave a Comment

In this day and age, a lot of topics and conversations are far more open than they used to be yet there is still a stigma attached to hair thinning and hair loss, especially in women. Most things are discussed in such an informative and safe way that it is rather rare to come across a subject that isn’t widely spoken about or is still a lingering taboo.

MENOPAUSE – Hair Thinning

I want to start a conversation about menopause, more specifically hair loss and hair thinning due to perimenopause and menopause. As I said, things are far more openly discussed than they used to be, however, I still find myself struggling to find spaces to talk about such things: so I’m here to create the space, start the discussion, and offer little tips, tricks and reviews of the things that have helped me the most!

PERIMENOPAUSE – Hair Thinning

Firstly, let’s talk about perimenopause. Perimenopause is the transitional period before menopause in which symptoms typically start to creep up due to the decrease of estrogen that is beginning to take place. Symptoms such as irregular periods, hot flashes, and hair thinning are the most common.

Subsequently, menopause is only diagnosed after going through the stages of perimenopause and having 12 months with no period – this means that symptoms are likely to become more prominent and frequent from this point onwards.

HAIR THINNING AND HAIR LOSS – PRODUCT TESTING

As somebody who loves to express themselves through their appearance – more specifically, their hair – dealing with hair thinning and hair loss has been a huge hit to my confidence and finding a brand that understands and helps with this has become a mission of mine. Not just for me, but for all who struggle with the self-esteem issues that come along with hair thinning and hair loss (even though we are all beautiful, hair or no hair!)

Throughout my journey, I have used countless brands and bottles of products that have simply not given me the results I want in terms of hair health and thickness. Over the next few months, I will be using the entirety of the Vegamour Gro+ range and keep track of my hair health! After reading such reviews and using other products from this brand, I do have high hopes for this range. I will be using a large variety of their advanced kit products, such as; GRO biotin gummies, GRO revitalising shampoo and conditioner kit, GRO hair and scalp serum, and the GRO advanced lash and brow kit. All products are designed specifically with hair health in mind, to ensure that your hair is left feeling thick and nourished.

MY JOURNEY TO HAIR/LASH & BROW GROWTH

I will use these as instructed and make the healthy hair regime a part of my daily routine to find and share the best contender to battle hair thinning as a result of perimenopause and menopause and hair loss due to suffering with trichotillomania 10 years ago.

Join me on my journey and fingers crossed we can combat hair thinning and hair loss and have luscious lashes and flowing locks.

I would love to hear your hair thinning stories and if any products have helped you.
