With so much at stake, Dracula and Mavis count on you to save the day in the truly thrilling, adrenaline-filled adventure that is Hotel Transylvania: Scary-tale Adventures.
The Appeal Of The Game
Many aspects of this game appealed to me, both as a parent of a young child, and a teen, and myself being an avid lover of the odd game. We are all aware of how truly fantastic the Hotel Transylvania films are and what a wonderfully spooky world they have created, so it will not be so difficult to believe that bringing that to life and allowing it to be a fun, interactive experience is any less fantastic. The game not only allows the characters to be reimagined but allows the player to essentially create a plot of their own for these fun and spooky characters.
Aside from the amazement of being able to interact within the world that is Hotel Transylvania, you are also immersed in the unknown whilst playing freely as if you yourself are part of this fantastically frightening universe. With character power-ups, unique worlds, hidden collectibles, and secrets within each story, it is true that the possibilities are truly limitless: with limitless possibilities comes unlimited fun!
As I mentioned briefly, this game is not tied down to a single target audience. It is truly marveling to young ones as they witness what is one of their most loved spooky movies coming to life as they are totally immersed in the Hotel Transylvania adventures and find endless possibilities within the game. On the contrary, I can admit that I have also sat through the films (many times) and grown to be entertained by the characters and the spooky world. The game truly lends itself to be an exciting game for many age groups, from kids all the way through to us adults that are still fascinated by the magic that these movies can create. I also like that add that, even if you are not a Count-Drac super fan, this game is still a thrilling adventure with challenges, mysteries, and spooktacular stories that remain engaging no matter how much or little you know about the films or the Hotel Transylvania universe itself.
Gameplay

As an overview of playing the actual game itself, each level in the game has enemies to defeat and obstacles to overcome. Levels also have collectibles for players to gather and the option to replay if you choose. Throughout, there are many characters that interact with the player to sway them along the right storyline in order to help them achieve more rewards, find more collectibles and advance through more stories. I find this particularly useful as it caters to the younger audience without making the game too easy and pointless overall, acting as hints rather than total storyline giveaways.
This is why the ability to replay a level is so utterly useful, a player can stray from the storyline and attempt stories in many different ways with the ability to trial and error until they succeed and follow on to the next story after figuring it out themselves. I also find that the NPC interaction helps to give the game a more “movie-like” feel and allows the player to feel like they are more involved within the Hotel Transylvania universe as they take hints from human Johnny and figure out solutions to tasks with Count Drac and Mavis when you are not actually playing as them first hand.
Conclusion
To conclude, I have found this game both entertaining and thrilling with great attention to detail when including characters in gameplay and allowing the player to truly experience the Hotel Transylvania adventures. Additionally, the collectibles, rewards, and variety of stories ensure that the game is difficult to get bored of as well as the fact that most storylines are totally unique and unlike the movies: allowing a new experience for players that they have not seen on screen whilst still being able to play as and alongside the characters we all know and love.
So, as Count Drac would (or wouldn’t say) – bleh, bleh bleh!
