Skylanders Imaginators has just been released and with it, the inclusion of many more Skylanders. There is also the Creation Crystals, allowing you to create your own custom Skylanders, a personal wish of mine since I began to play Skylanders all those years ago. So in order to celebrate I have compiled the 10 Skylanders, I’m most excited to be buying in the coming year.
No. 10 Dr Krankcase
Even in Trap Team, Dr Krankcase was one of my favourite villains (alongside the Chompy Mage and Kaos) to play as and is also one of the two characters I got to try out at EGX this year, along with Tri-Tip. Honestly, going in, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Krankcase, as I’ve been trying to keep the new figures abilities secret to myself, and I found myself pleasantly surprised! Dr Krankcases basic is an extremely fast firing ranged attack, a combination of both of my favourite Skylander trait’s, and a trap style hat attack! Although his attacks do little damage each, it’s amazing in killing fast and efficiently. His spin attack is also amazingly fun to spam around making him one of my favourite Skylanders to date.
No. 9 – King Pen
King Pen comes in the starter pack and is one of the characters I’m most excited for. First of all, I love penguins, I love arm based weapons and I love the water element, of which this contains all three! From what I’ve seen he’s fun and a basic attack spammer, my favourite type of Skylanders (and one of the reasons I love Krankcase ) and in the end, he’s a penguin. No more explanation needed. Although, I am curious as what a ‘gold belt’ would be in terms of ranking. Caverta http://www.sildenafilanswers.com/caverta/
No. 8 Air Strike
Air strike comes in a pack, meaning I’m going to be automatically picking him up, but I also like his design, which is similar to Chopscotch, another of my favourites, due to their roundness. Furthermore, he has a pet bird. Anyone with a pet bird automatically is good in my eye’s. Also, from the little footage I’ve seen of him, he seem’s to be a blast to play with and as such, I’m excited to pick him up!
No. 7 Starcast
Four arms, four shuriken, a gold belt ( i will find out what that means, it is my mission and goal) and a translucent area (along with being of the Dark element) make Starcast one I’m excited for. I’ve seen no gameplay yet but just from the design, I want to buy this guy (which means someone’s doing their job right). Also, giant fists, enough said.
No. 6 Tri-Tip
As mentioned earlier, Tri-Tip was one of the two Skylanders I’ve already played and so far, a boat load of fun. I’ve always been a fan of maces and triceratops but have never seen the two together and over all his design reminds me of a show I watched year’s ago, whose name I cannot remember. His basic feels satisfying to use and just makes me happy while playing him. Dinosaur’s are always cool, always beat aliens and are the best. Period.
No.5 Dr Neo Cortex
A mage of the Tech element, a fact which goes against itself (Magitech! =D) but if this character wasn’t exclusive to the PS4 £85.00 starter pack, it would have been in my top 3 easy. He has amazing hair, especially that beard which score’s easy brownie points with me and is also a character from the Crash Bandicoot game series, a series which I feel has been regressed to a cash cow recently (remastering the game? Just make a new one!) but still, the memory brings me the joy of childhood, play the few crash game’s we own. All in all, I’m extremely excited for this guy.
No. 4 Chompy Mage
Ah, the memories. Chompy mage was by far my favourite character in Trap Team, alongside Flynn of course, if only because the puppet is adorable =D. Oh yeah, he turned into a giant chompy, that was fun. Whenever I was bored, I’d pop his crystal in and just have fun with him and I’m excited to see him return and actually own a figure of him! Anyways on to No. 3.
No. 3 Kaos
If anyone thought I would not put Kaos on the list, I question their sanity. By far, Kaos is one of the best Villains in any game period – except the Chompy Mage of course – and has an amazingly fun range of attacks. This guy was the reason I bought TT’s special ed and from what I’ve seen he seems very similar to it. Also, he has his own class, that’s neat. But to have a figure of him standing on my shelf will bring joy to me! Also, the story behind why ‘Kaos’ turned good is, in my opinion, one of the best Skylanders Origin stories.
No. 2 Chopscotch
From the moment I saw her little round form, I was in love! This character is absolutely adorable, has a giant axe, an amazing variant and a GOLD BELT! Just her attacks make me want to buy her and made her one of my first picks to buy and her origin story has some irony, due to Wolfgang being a new Sensei, and is honestly well made. This character is already on my shopping list for my first store sweep, along with her variant, and is forecasted to be one of my favourite Skylanders in every game, but she’s not number 1…
No. 1 Crash Bandicoot
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say this was pretty obvious, but for good reason. He’s Crash Bandicoot. He has a beautiful figure, fun attacks, a great level and the only downside is he’s only in the PS4 Crash pack. His level was what I got to play through at EGX and it only made me more excited to bring back old memories and go on a crusade as Crash.
So, this has been my Top Ten favourite character’s I’m excited for in Skylanders Imaginators. Who know’s how this will change as I play them but I can say for sure that after the mediocre experience with superchargers, this game is on track to restore my faith in the series.
This is Jake age 14 from Umeandthekids, have fun folks.
