Vitamix 750 Vs Sage The Boss Video Review

September 9, 2015 | 21 Comments

In this post, we put the Vitamix 750 Professional series blender against the Sage by Heston Blumenthal, otherwise known as The Boss against each other. We do this by testing the products and their features with identical recipes to see how they fair. Will the £150 difference between the two blenders make any difference at all? Let’s see!

Vitamix 750 & the boss blenders

Why I bought a professional blender

Over the past year, I have been using a blender practically on a daily basis. I upgraded my run-of-the-mill kitchen blender and invested in a professional-style kitchen blender The Vitamix 750 series. These type of blenders do not come cheap, but for such a versatile product that makes hot soup, Ice creams, mills, and much more, for me, It was worth the £650 price tag!

I never thought any product would better the Vitamix 750 series, so I was intrigued to learn about a new professional blender on the market from Sage by Heston Blumenthal called The Boss. This blender costs around £150 less than it’s Vitamix rival, which for a family can make a big difference in this day and age.

In this blender showdown, let’s see which performs the best! You will see both the Vitamix and The Boss in action. I will give you my honest opinion after using both blenders in my kitchen. Did one outshine the other? Which one would I purchase? Which blender is best for my family?

Conclusion

sage the boss blender

If I were to highlight the key strengths of the Boss, then I would say the price point is very competitive compared to similar products on the market. It has an extremely powerful motor and is the first blender to feature the Green Smoothie function, which is great for healthy living. The most impressive feature for me was the self-cleaning mode, which cleaned every trace of sticky Nutella from the jug.

After watching the video, which one would be your choice?

Wow, going by that, I would definitely go for the Sage and save myself the extra money?! I’m happy enough with my run of the mill blender for now, but who knows in the future.

I think Id go for the Vitamix, probably because Ive been lusting after one for a long time now and it has such a good reputation. They are so expensive though aren’t they but then I guess you get what you pay for. A 7 year full warranty is very good.

I found this super interesting, whilst both of these are unfortunately out of my price range I have been looking at getting a new blender so this is helpful to see what functions are out there and what noise levels are like on higher end models! x

Good on you for using your blender on a daily basis. I wish I had one to make smoothies with, I’d love it! I’d never pay £650 for one though.

Faints at cost of blender….I think the Sage looks really nice and would fit better in my kitchen, but it looks tricky to use against the vitamix.

This looks like a fantastic blender but I think I would prefer to buy a cheaper one and spend the rest of the money on other things. Lovely review but too expensive for my budget, i’m afraid.

I’ve been lusting after a vitamix for years, but there always seems to have been something more important to spend my money on. I’m impressed with the boss – previously I had always poo poo’d any other blender in comparison to the vitamix, but after reading this, I have to say it would get serious consideration of my savings pot ever got as far as £450 – i think i might end up plumping for the boss after reading your review!
