Want To Add A Little Size To Your Breasts? Try Augmentation With Fat

April 2, 2020 | Leave a Comment

Ok, I admit it does not sound very appealing. But, there is a breast augmentation procedure that doesn’t require silicone or saline implants and uses your own body fat, instead. There are many women who have small breasts and are just looking for a little boost and definitely an option I would have considered when I went for my breast augmentation. If you are one of those women that don’t want your breasts to look unnatural, but wouldn’t mind adding some modest size and shape then this is likely your best course of action. You may need to look around for a specialist in this as not every plastic surgeon is certified. If you are in Canada or plan to visit then the best breast surgery Toronto has to offer has experts, such as Dr. Mulholland, in house. If you feel you are mentally prepared for this kind of surgery, then read on for the guide.

Autologous Augmentation by Fat Transfer

The official name of this procedure is Autologous Augmentation by Fat Transfer. It’s just like how there is a procedure for bald men and women in which they transplant hair from one area to the bald spot? Well, this works much the same way except the doctor takes fat from an area of the body where there is excess and then puts it into your breasts. Think of it as a sort of liposuction and breast augmentation hybrid. The reason it works is not just that there is some added mass. There are stem cells within the fat that will change to become the same type of cells in your breasts. In fact, some people mistakenly call this a stem cell breast augmentation. The reality is that stem cells alone wouldn’t work.

Advantages

The main advantage of this procedure is that you won’t have any foreign bodies inside your breasts. Though the decades since implants were first introduced have led to many advances in safety, many women prefer to use something more natural. Saline implants, in particular, can look strange when you bend over as ridges are visible. And silicone can split open making your breast look uneven. There is less scarring as a needle is used rather than incisions so there is little evidence of the procedure. This in addition to the fact that your breasts still look more natural without using implants. And the size is not over-exaggerated.

Disadvantages

If you are looking to dramatically increase your breast size, then this is not the procedure for you. You may increase a half a bra size to your breasts at the most. This is for when you have some sag happening and wish to firm up your breasts. There is some prep time necessary for a few months in which you need to stretch out the skin of your breasts. You basically need to create some space within the breast so the fat can fill it naturally. This adds some period of discomfort and planning ahead. Lastly, some fat may be reabsorbed by your body which will make your breasts smaller again if it happens.
