Deciding on the right bed for your kids’ bedroom can be a difficult decision. You need to ensure it’s something they can have for years to come and is as comfy as possible, so they get maximum enjoyment whilst spending time there. I’ve put together a guide of the different beds available and why you should consider them for your kids’ bedroom.
What do you need to consider?
Before you decide on the type of bed you need to work out how much space you have available. In kids’ bedrooms particularly, space can sometimes be at a premium. Try and measure up how much space you have before making your commitment. If you find you need a specific sized mattress then look no further than custom size mattresses from Bed Guru. They can make you a custom size mattress and bed frame depending on the specific size you need!
Cabin Beds
If you need an option that not only gives them somewhere to sleep but also somewhere to store their things, then cabin beds are the solution you need. Not only do they have a super comfy bed, but they also have drawers and cupboards to keep things tidied away. They even sometimes come with a desk area, so if you have a child of school age it gives them somewhere they can do their homework.
Bunk Beds
If you have more than one child sharing a bedroom and limited space, then bunk beds will open up so much more room. If you don’t know what they are, essentially, they’re one bed on top of another, so width and lengthways, they only take up as much space as one bed. There are some that come with a double bed on the bottom rather than a single, you just need to consider exactly how much space you have to make sure it fits. You also need to make sure there’s no arguing over who gets the bigger bed!
Single Bed
It’s highly likely you’ll only have enough space for a single bed so you need to be realistic. Although they may want a double bed to grow into and have more room for movement, they can take up a lot of space. There’s a huge range of single beds out there, with different varieties of mattresses to go with them. You may even be able to get your hands on a single bed specifically designed for children with designs ranging from a football bed to a princess bed.
These are the best three options that I’ve seen for children’s bedrooms. Do you have any suggestions? Feel free to comment below with what you have used in your kids’ bedrooms; I’d love to hear from you!
