Premier Inn Castleford Review | Perfect for the price!

October 6, 2011 | Leave a Comment

Me and my husband stayed at the Premier Inn Castleford hotel which is located a stone’s throw from the Xscape for an overnight stay. After checking in we took our very heavy large overnight bag to our room.

“I know my husband did keep reminding me we were only there for the night”, but a girl has to pack for every eventuality.

The Cleanliness Check

We had checked into one of the Larger rooms and like most people you look around and check for imperfections. We found nothing! The room was light and airy and best of all spotlessly clean. Seriously, I can’t tell you how many hotels I have stayed at where I have wanted to run as soon as I arrived.

The bedroom’s at The Premier Inn Castleford.

So, this is a large room. To be honest I find most bedrooms at hotels adequate and this one is a fair size. The room comes with a separate shower and toilet area and a rather large wash basin which is located inside of the room itself. Above the wash basin at the Premier Inn Castleford is a large well lit mirror and in all honesty something I haven’t found at too many hotels before.

Meal’s at The Premier Inn Castleford.

Our meals including breakfast can be booked as an “ultimate deal” for £22.00 per person and for this you can enjoy 3 courses from the meal deal menu,a glass of wine, beer or soft drink and the Premier breakfast.

We booked our table in the restaurant on arrival and were seated straight away by the most helpful lady called Colleen, she was extremely complimentary, helpful and friendly.

We ordered from the 2 course meal deal at £10.99 a head, I choose the Spring vegetable Risotto recommended to me, my husband chose a 10oz Rump Steak. The meals were extremely well presented and so tasty both our plates were left clean, my husband stated “it was the nicest steak I have ever tasted and cooked perfectly”.

For dessert we both chose the baked vanilla cheesecake which looked too good to eat topped with vanilla ice-cream and fruit compote.

We left the restaurant extremely satisfied and like we had made a new friend in Colleen.

The Breakfast Menu

After a good night’s sleep we went down for breakfast both of us actually full from the night before. Here is the Breakfast Menu.

The self service option was incredible fruits, yoghurt, crumpets, toast ,muffins; The hot counter serving scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, beans and tomatoes the choice.

We were then told by yet another super friendly member of staff if there was anything else we wanted like vegetarian sausage, poached eggs etc the chef would be happy to make it for us. A  few Costa Coffees later (included in the Premier Breakfast) we packed our bags and left feeling like we had stayed in a 4 star hotel yet with a 2 star price tag, the customer service received from all the staff was outstanding  leaving us feeling so relaxed and rejuvenated.

As you can tell I would rate this hotel 4 out of 5 Stars, they truly made our stay enjoyable.

(We were sent to test the facilities by Premier Inn Hotels Castleford for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions are of my own)
